Speaking about music to my mind it can be subdivided into two groups. The first group is the songs which are created only for commercial goals. While the second one comprises songs and compositions which inspire not only listeners, but also performers themselves. It means that the performer songs because he/she likes and enjoys it to such extent that his/her creation becomes a real masterpiece. Of course, it is rather difficult to speak about singers and bands which are famous all over the world. Still, there are some contemporary performers and bands which songs make other people realize the essence of being and admire the power of music. Jamiroquai is one of such groups. Although the style in which the Jamiroquai performed its songs is rather popular, funk, some of the band’s works may be described as the perfect combination of music, lyrics, mood, voice, and charisma of the soloist. The song Corner of the Earth has all traits that make a song a real masterpiece which. The soloist of the Jamiroquai admitted: “This is one of the few occasions where I have done the whole rhythm track on my own, and it’s really nice to play against yourself and get something cool happening” (Rhythm magazine, 2002). The theme of the songs, unity with nature, makes the song a truly eternal composition. By the way, there were samples of nature sounds introduced into the composition to make it reflect the main message of the song clearer and more unique.
Of course, music is not the only thing which inspired me. Art is an overwhelming phenomenon. I like different kinds of art because they are most unpredictable things in the world. Each painting, each sculpture, whether it is created by a talented painter or an amateur, reveals in this or that way the inner state of a person. watching, for example, the works by a greater painter, one can admit what the person was interested, what is his/her philosophy, what message a painter wanted to reveal in is picture, etc. To my mind, the works by the Russian painter, Ivan Aivazovsky, are the most vivid and unusual paintings I have ever seen. The theme of the painting is very close to the song by the Jamiroquai. Still they are different in the emotional coloring. If the song depicts balanced coexistence of a man and nature, the painting by Aivazovsky demonstrate the eternal fight of a man and nature and beauty of nature through its power. It is not a surprise that the majority of Ivan Aivazovsky’s were dedicated to sea and ocean. The Ninth Wave s considered the most famous painting by Aivazovsky. Although the painting depicts people and sea during the storm which is not so optimistic, the painter managed to create the power of nature through the colors of waves and introduction of amazing light and atmosphere in the picture (Caffiero and Samarine, 2001, p. 211). Moreover, it is obvious for the painting that people who are fighting with the storm have the expression of hope on their faces. I like the painting not only for the indescribable beauty of the sea, his unsurpassed talent, but also for the message he, as it seems to me, revealed through the images of sailors: the hope is the strongest feeling which gives a human the opportunity to fight for his/her life and survive.
