Introduction
Majority of the campuses in the United States try to offer the best services to their workers and students. School management orders for the best to promote the name of the campus through improved competitive advantages. They also try to attract more students and the most qualified board to manage their services for a better health and academic promotion. This is only improved through a detailed school research and numbers of interviews to cross examine what is missing. It simply gives information of what can be improved and with what urgency. This paper examines the services of Wellness and Health Promotion to the students of CSU as outlined through an interview with the organization’s coordinator, Melinda Yang.
Main body
CSU student Health Center is an agency that provides health services to CSU students after payments of a required fee. The students pay a health fee which covers most of their health services. The funds are always enough for the performance of the agency to provide the best health attention to their clients. CSU Student Health Center has several roles that it plays in promotion of health to students of the campus. One of the major roles is to support the university by serving all registered students by providing efficient, accessible, and affordable health care services.
In addition, they also have number of goals, missions and philosophies that propel them to excellence. Their mission involves supporting academic efficiency through improved health status of the student fraternity irrespective of their cultural diversity. In support of their mission, they also have set goals of which they intend to achieve at the best level possible. These goals are aimed at providing the best health care services. These are fundamental primary care, limited specialty care, health promotion and disease prevention. There is also a principal support services which is upgraded with laboratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology and nutrition. There are also other health mental services that they offer. Furthermore, the agency looks for alternative ways of raising funds so that the students would experience less weight in terms of paying of the costs of health care. Above all, the state of health of the students at CSU is entirely in the hands of CSU student health center. They would be responsible for any misgivings that would arise and are ready to account for any short comings in the health care system of the student community.
There is also an advertisement routine for the campus community used to advertise the services provided inside the campus. They use the Student Health Center brochure to do most of their advertisements. There are multiple presentations at Orientations for student organizations and academic classes to advertise their services. Therefore, this largely enhances the promotion of their services which are provided with eligible requirements to all regularly enrolled CSU students. The strict requirements of eligibility make the services easier to manage and more perfect to the students. Most complications are taken with ease due to available funds from the campus management.
Moreover, the number of students who receive the services in each month is not exact. But annually the services are always worked up. The number of students who access the services is usually determined by the population in the campus. Almost 90% of the students have access to the services. As a result, the revenue generated from registering students is used to start or support other services. This in turn builds number of projects that are important to some school services.
The agency is always funded by the health fee. It is not supported by any institution like the University, State, Federal or any private department. It is fundamentally built from the health fee. The students pay very minimal, especially fees on lab work and vaccinations. The rest are catered for by the health fee from school management. All the primary care services are offered free of charge. Due to the minimal amount of fees paid in the two services, the payment scale is always convincing. However, there is always a sliding scale when there are inconveniences. These can be the absenteeism of some students. It can also be affected by student transfer or death of a student. Here, the fees are catered for from the set aside fund for inconveniences.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the CSU student health center is the best agency with the most admirable services. Through this agency, students of CSU are accessible to primary and secondary health care services. Unlike other forms of health care service provision, the services offered by CSU health center are affordable and accessible. In most cases, the agency operates on its own. It does not operate under sponsorship of any other outside source but student’s health fees. However, it could have been appropriate that they collaborated with other sources outside the campus in order to promote variability and allow expertise from the outside organizations. Furthermore, funding offered by external sources would greatly promote the quality of services offered to students. It would also allow poor students to access free health services. As a beneficiary of this important service provider, I would recommend any person who needs quality services to seek for them at this agency. This position is particularly strengthened by the quality and affordability of services offered by the organization.
