The College of Nurses in Ontario

The Canadian Council of Registered Regulators
The Canadian Council of Registered Regulators (CCRNR) performs a similar function. It aligns the cooperation between registered nurses for interprovincial, national, and global issues (“2021-2022 highlights,” 2021). CCRNR maintains a forum for exchanging best practices and policies to cultivate the most desired results (“2021-2022 highlights,” 2021). The body is essential for supporting Canada’s healthcare sector and ensuring its readiness to face new challenges.
Health Profession Regulators of Ontario
Health Profession Regulators of Ontario (HPRO) is another crucial organization that uses self-regulation. It encompasses around 400,000 healthcare professionals in Ontario (“Quick facts about HPRO members,” n.d.). The central duty of the agency is to ensure that the public is protected and that healthcare professionals act ethically and within the existing legal framework (“Quick facts about HPRO members,” n.d.).
Ontario Health Regulators
Finally, the Ontario Health Regulators is an organization setting the requirements for becoming regulated health professionals in Ontario (“What we do,” n.d.). OHR includes doctors, dentists, and nurses who function within the Canadian healthcare sector and are fundamental for growing client satisfaction (“What we do,” n.d.). In this way, the organizations mentioned above can be considered pillars of the nursing profession in Ontario. They support self-regulatory efforts and the approach to organizing the work within the profession established in 1963. The agencies outline, introduce, and create practice standards and monitor their use in practice.
