To become a powerful and strong country it should be controlled, as only control is the basis for the magnificence. The control should be not total, without any impose of power and authority, but still should be provided by strict and well educated person with the experience in political life of the country. There are three branches of power in the state, legislative, executive and judicial, which are responsible for different affairs in the state. State Senators or Representatives are the main members of the legislative branch. The biographies of the politicians are commonly not so interested, but the life and ideas of Bob Bennett deserve attention. Bob Bennett is the Senator of Utah who feels responsibility for the order in Utah and wants to maker the life of the citizens of the state easier and more comfortable as the happiness of citizens is the happiness of the state.
Bob Bennett s a person of a great spirit who was working for a long time and contested trust and appreciation by his hard work and friendly relation to people. He was born in 1933 in Salt Lake City, and was the witness of his father’s work in the Senate what helped him to establish his own ideas about his future. He had great experience in the field of public relations and in 1992 he was elected to the Senate. The further reelections took place in 1998 and 2004. Present responsibilities of Bennett are as follows, he serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee and its subcommittee on Budget and International Security. Moreover, he is the chairman of the Small Business Entrepreneurship Joint Economic Committee (LeMay 139).
Being seventeen, Bob Bennett worked as a congressional staffer (it is impossible to deny that this work helped him to get a lot of experience which helped him to adapt to the Senate regime). Bob Bennett served as the Mormon chaplain in the Army National Guard for three years since 1957. Good leadership skills and communication experience was gained by Bennett in Capitol Hill, where became a good entrepreneurship and as CEO of Franklin International Institute (“Biography” par. 3).
Being the member of the Republican Party, Bob Bennett is working in a team of the Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (“Biography” par. 1). Working in the legislative sphere, the Senator has a lot of ideas about how to make the life of people better. One of the most his significant and striking attention of his ideas is the idea about the healthcare of people. The main idea of the healthcare reform is that “the possibility for a deal that provides health insurance for all through the private sector” (Ponnuru par. 1). The advantage of such reform is that people will be able to buy their insurance polices for the period they want and for the time they want. Such reform was offered in 2008 and Republicans were sure to provide such reform only with the condition that both Houses will support it. The privileges are also given to the people who do not work at this very moment. Moreover, the worker will be able to have their insurance polices from one place to the other without any problems both to the worker and to the employer (Ponnuru par. 17).
The healthcare reforms were one of the main considerations of the Senator as the healthy nation is a happy nation, and the idea of the privatization of the insurance bills will also make the veteran life better. Being the wise lawmaker, Bennett tried to do all possible to make his speech before the Senate argumentative and persuasive, as the ideas which were offered by him were the worthy one and the whole Republican Party supported that idea. The problem is to give the idea to the Democrats and to have their approval.
Healthcare is not the only sphere which interested Senator, education, sport, culture, relations and other aspects were followed and controlled. As the example, the situation with Forest Service can be remembered. Being in the Senate Appropriations Committee, Bob Bennett funded $800,000 to the Forest Service “to design and engineer the road connecting Snowbasin to Trappers Loop” (Trimble 146). This shows a high spectrum of Bennett’s interests and his development as a person. It is always better to deal with broad educated person than with the person, especially politician, who cares only about politics and his/her place in it.
In conclusion, Senator Bob Bennett is the person who devoted his life to politics and tried to make people’s life easier and better. The creative solutions to the state problems, which were offered by him, were met by the society and the changes, which were made for the favor of not only the Utah state where he worked but also for the whole American nation. A lot of projects and amendments to the different laws were created by him, his offers has always been reasonable and supported by facts and arguments and even on his 76th year of life he did not drop his work and continues to serve to the American nation.
