Interesting Information
Generally, “types of social influence” is the topic we studied that interests me the most. I received much new and valuable data about interpersonal interaction characteristics: explicit expectations, compliance, and obedience. Without any exaggeration, the knowledge I acquired has carried out my personal and professional growth. I looked at myself and others from the other side. Moreover, I want to delve into this topic and explore more interrelated aspects to better understand how my social circle affects me and how I can influence others.
Within the framework of psychology and sociology, the topic of “types of social influence” seems promising and relevant to the study. Social influence in the context of group identity is incredibly comprehensive; it is the primary basis of most human existence and behavior (Spears, 2021). People are social beings and members of many social groups, and they survive due to groups and are formed as identities at the intersection of the influences of various groups. I think a group as a socio-psychological phenomenon is complex, and many points require separate consideration.
In particular, I found it interesting to explore influence strategies and various means to exert pressure on individuals, their opinions, attitudes, wills, worldviews, and values. To date, a wide range of mechanisms allows one to influence a person’s internal state, psyche, motivation, wishes, and aspirations. There are many good reasons that influence strategies are often explicitly aimed at changing attitudes.
The final and desired goal of the influence process may be behavior change, but the paths to this goal lead through a complex system of attitudes. The classes taught me how to get the desired result at the interpersonal level and not become a victim of manipulation. There is no doubt that many different factors need to be considered. Still, the knowledge received is enough to make it possible to draw some conclusions while in a group and interacting with specific people.
New Things
The information received enriched and expanded my knowledge of psychology and sociology. Mainly, I learned how we think using intuition and logic and how society affects us. It should be noted that logic and intuition are inextricably connected, which provides the basis for processing specific social information. Logic and intuition are often seen as antipodes, and in most cases, it is believed that rational decisions are associated with logic and vice versa. On the other hand, under certain circumstances, intuition leads to more effective actions and initiatives because it is a holistic form of data conversion and can sometimes be better than logic and analysis (Julmi, 2019).
The peculiarity of intuition is that the individual connections of the thinking process are carried more or less unconsciously. Only the result of the thought is imprinted, and the truth is suddenly revealed. I realized that such opposition is sometimes harmful in practice since these abilities are natural; they complement and reinforce each other, allowing one to make more informed decisions.
Furthermore, now I know more about how reason and feelings are specifically evident in the context of social influence. They significantly impact a person’s behavior, relationships with others, and group roles. Intuition and logic play a significant role in the knowledge of oneself and others. These are the abilities to “feel” the energies and emotions of people around, influencing them at the right moment.
Notably, logic and deductive solutions are not the only components of the human mind; intuition can help if it is developed through experiences in dialogues (Dos Santos, 2021). In the real process of cognition, they tend to be closely intertwined, supporting and complementing each other. Intuition leads to interesting new ideas but often generates errors and misleading. Intuitive guesses are subjective and unstable; they need logical justification, and to convince of the intuitively grasped truth, both others and oneself, requires detailed reasoning and proofs.
Learning and Preconceptions
In a sense, the training influenced my preconceptions that having a specific set of knowledge can open many paths and allow one to reach incredible heights.
Learning and View of the World and the Universe
In general, learning affects my view of the world and the universe from the point of view of a qualitative boost in development, expanding horizons, and the amplitude through which I began to perceive the surrounding reality. In forming such ideas, my logic and intuition participated on equal terms, alternately layering two forms of cognition, intellectual and emotional, on top of each other. I do not look narrowly and do not give up opportunities.
Additionally, I understand that there is no limit to perfection, and I am gradually working to improve my knowledge, skills, and abilities. The educational process within classes has significantly transformed my personality, perception of the world around me, and ideology. To a greater extent, I am now inclined to use logical thinking, analysis, and reflection in various situations using intuitive actions. Due to learning, I make more balanced and rational decisions about my future, behavior, and lifestyle.
Learning and My Behavior
What I have learned will change my behavior in the future, both directly and indirectly; any detail can affect events and decisions. In this case, I will apply specific tactics, methods, and strategies that will help me make my life brighter, more prosperous, and happier. What I have learned will give me a chance to realize my capabilities, get to know myself and others better, and become more confident.
I will develop my qualities and fulfill my desires and dreams. Moreover, this will be an impetus for mastering communication skills at a high level and effectively solving professional and personal difficulties. I will be careful in my words, actions, and deeds concerning other individuals. I will take more considerate steps through which it will be possible to avoid problems in relationships, resolve conflicts, and make clear decisions.
In addition, the acquired information will change my behavior because I can better understand my emotions, set goals, and manage my conduct and thinking. There will be opportunities for self-development and enhancing my quality of life. I will understand what skills and knowledge need to be acquired to interact effectively with different people.
I will comprehensively study and evaluate my weaknesses and strengths, determine my priorities and goals, form my societal position, develop the qualities that are lacking in communicating with others, and educate myself. Knowing the specifics of my “psycho soul” will protect me from mistakes and ridiculous situations that can stall progress. By studying the peculiarities of a personality, a curious mind will begin to pay more attention to others, noticing their exceptions that can help in communication and help to understand the motives in other people’s behaviors and reactions.
