Introduction
A summary report on the stakeholders participating in a specific project, program, or organization is a document that gives a general overview of those parties. The stakeholders’ identities, tasks, levels of influence, and possible effects on the project or organization are often described. Estée Lauder is a widely recognized, dependable company with a thorough business plan (Wiesmeth, 2020).
In my opinion, Estée Lauder is highly good at explaining the firm’s sales and how different business people believe the company is doing. It is a very visual business report, which aids in the comprehension of the report and graphs by more users. As a business-savvy individual, I can grasp much of this report; however, there is jargon that people may not be familiar with or understand.
This research assesses how well the Estée Lauder 2020 Year in Review report communicates essential information to its target audience. We will look at the report’s use of data and figures and how effectively it is presented. Finally, we will assess if the report’s data were effectively presented to stakeholders. Overall, the report’s clear, easy-to-read structure efficiently conveyed important information. The paper was organized clearly, providing all relevant information and choices to study particular topics further.
The report aims to emphasize the company’s accomplishments for the year and back them up with financial information displayed in graphs and charts. The primary page of the report makes it simple to obtain essential details, and readers may dive deeper if they want. This method provides readers with the required facts without becoming intrusive (Sun et al., 2021). The report’s minimal data in the charts, which prevents comparisons from being made, is a drawback.
The Estée Lauder report effectively communicates statistics and other facts while allowing readers to explore particular subject areas. While using a variety of data kinds, the study primarily compares their numbers to those from prior years and comparable businesses. Among other things, it talks about their emphasis on sales and how to keep up with supply chain problems brought on by the pandemic in 2020 while still maintaining great sales. Hero Products, Innovation, and Diversified Portfolio are among the precise phrases used in the study. The report successfully conveys their performance throughout the preceding five years in general.
Content
“The highlights and success in 2020” are what the Estée Lauder report tries to emphasize. The report’s introductory paragraphs give an overview of the first and second halves of 2020. It uses several graphs to display financial data from the past five years, but none of them specifically mention the year 2020 as a whole. They concentrate instead on the five-year transitioning period (Estée Lauder Companies, 2021). For instance, even though the research only considers net sales from 2015 to 2020, it reveals a significant growth in the sales of skincare items. Nevertheless, as a reader, I am eager to contrast this information with recent years.
The report’s phrasing implies that fellow entrepreneurs are its intended audience because its principles are probably complex for the average customer to understand. For instance, the title of one graph, “5-year CAGR Sales,” is given without explaining what it means (Estée Lauder Companies, 2021). This shows that those with no expertise in business would find it difficult to interpret the information provided.
Presentation
The report maintains everything short and accessible for readers, with the ability to enlarge select page sections for additional detail. The spacing and design are excellent since you can scroll down to see what portion of the report you are on. I do believe that the structure and information should be better arranged. You anticipate reading the highlights after reading the brief introduction. You are met with pictures of the two senior executives instead, along with the message “Message from our leaders.” I think their photos would serve them better as a close or at the end of the report rather than being placed first, where they are now without the headshots.
The report offers information about each product after presenting three without any accompanying descriptions, but it does not include any photos. For instance, one phrase says, “Our emphasis on well-known hero products and franchises drives customer loyalty and long-term value.” The reader is left to speculate as to what this phrase means. Although the report’s graphics are well-presented, no supporting text describes their patterns. While the report successfully emphasizes its accomplishments, greater details would make those accomplishments more significant and clear.
Conclusion
In conclusion, A Stakeholder Summary Report ensures that all key stakeholders are identified and considered and that their requirements and expectations are appropriately met. It assists project or organizational leaders in comprehending the stakeholders’ viewpoints, prioritizing their demands, and creating plans to handle anticipated disputes or problems. The report supports its assertions of success with visual aids like graphs and charts and details the business’s financial performance over the previous five years. The report’s intended audience is other entrepreneurs, as seen by some of the languages used, which may be challenging for average customers to grasp.
