Nowadays, countries face numerous challenges, one of which is climate change. It can lead to large-scale disasters such as drought, famine, heavy rains, floods, and a significant rise in water levels.
The latter will have particular implications for SIDs and LDCs, as all coastal zones will be damaged. Famine, the migration crisis, and other consequences of environmental problems, including climate change, will also affect other states. Thus, it is necessary to analyze how strategic support for LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDs will contribute to progress on the environmental agenda.
Environmental Agenda and Groups of States
Primarily, it is necessary to indicate that each group of countries has unique environmental challenges and consequences. For example, sea level rise poses a significant threat to SIDs, which will not devastate LLDCs. This is because the latter have no access to the sea; respectively, countries with access to the sea will be subject to large-scale destruction (Claybourne, 2020).
However, when the water level rises, LLDCs will face a migration crisis as people try to reach safe territory. Additionally, it can lead to famine, as many agricultural production areas will be destroyed. Moreover, LDCs will be subject to an economic crisis since the coastal zones and the ports, the sources of income, will also not function.
The Importance of Strategic Support
Therefore, strategic support for the aforementioned group of countries is crucial for the international community. It can be formulated through financial assistance and resource provision, which involves the provision of equipment and materials to mitigate the consequences. In the case of rising water levels, it could be assistance in the form of maintenance for constructing protective structures and strengthening the coastline (Claybourne, 2020). Additionally, sending qualified specialists to the threatened territory is necessary to assess the danger and develop a plan to implement strategies. Financial assistance can be provided free of charge or through long-term loans.
It is worth noting that strategic support will advance the environmental agenda globally. This is formulated by the fact that, using the example of threatened territories, other countries can develop a prevention plan that takes into account their geographical characteristics. Furthermore, the active study of this issue will be beneficial to the entire world.
Strategic support should also include close cooperation between countries regarding environmental issues. It will lead to more effective research, analysis, and development of threat mitigation strategies. Moreover, it formulates potential changes in these country groupings (LDCs, LLDCs, SIDs), which will trigger positive changes in other countries. Namely, it is essential to apply theoretical bases concerning the environment in practice and obtain additional data on the current issue.

Finally, it is worth noting that investments in climate mitigation technologies will also be effective. It includes assistance in developing and allocating funds to construct environmentally friendly technologies. Additionally, assistance should be provided to mitigate the effects of climate change on crop-dependent countries, as these regions will be particularly susceptible to droughts. It was also found that environmental problems have unique consequences for each group of countries. Accordingly, specific solution strategies should be developed for each group depending on their characteristics.
