The course objectives cover a broad range of management areas including forecasting, environmental analysis, corporate social responsibility, strategic design, and others. Every manager must continually develop and enhance skills associated with those objectives because he/she will have to engage in the mentioned practices regularly in their professional career. All of the given objectives are equally important mainly because they are linked to distinct aspects of the business.
For instance, ethical leadership and ethical decision-making contribute to the workplace climate and defines public perceptions of the organization, while identification of changes in the external environment and creation of innovative and realistic business plans determines the company’s ability to mitigate risks and achieve desired short-term and long-term goals effectively. It is apparent that if one does not pay similar attention to the management of public attitudes and attainment of corporate goals, as well as other management aspects, he or she will likely not achieve significant success and sustainability in business.
It is worth noticing that an ideal image of a successful manager determined in one of the recent studies is a person who “possesses a high-level and long-term view, is a fair and firm person, makes decisions in a logical and objective way, is extroverted and sociable, prefers structured environments and keeping the control over situations” (Montequin, Nieto, Ortega, & Villanueva, 2015, p. 61). It is possible to say that by accomplishing the course objectives, learners may progress in developing some of these qualities needed for successful management and efficient resolution of problems occurring in both internal and external environments.
