Introduction: Specifying the Problem
One of the issues of crucial importance for the modern world, the issue of qualified team management requires thorough considerations. It is evident that the modern laboratories need the coordination of the assistants’ work and the general management. Because of the multiple problems and details that it involves, a specific manner of the team coordination is required, which means that lean thinking as a phenomenon must be researched.
It is peculiar that the laboratory accreditation is supposed to be conveyed with help of the specific approach that is called as Lean Thinking in the modern sphere of team management. There is certain evidence that allows to suggest that the approach of lean thinking is bound to lead to a successful accreditation of the laboratory.
Addressing the Subject: The Lean Thinking Approach
It is obvious that in the laboratory premises the atmosphere can be at times somewhat heated due to the lack of space and the close interaction of the participants. Since most of the assistants in the laboratory are to work under considerable strain caused by the excess of responsibility, stronger means of work coordination are required. In the given case, the method of lean thinking seems to be the most efficient. Once using lean thinking in the laboratory environment, one will see that such means of coordination is the most positive one among all existing, because of its amazing flexibility. It is quite peculiar that lean thinking is viewed even as a sort of philosophy nowadays.
Addressing the Subject: Acquiring Knowledge
Therefore, the model of lean thinking is applied in the laboratory to reach the highest level of performance and increase the efficiency of the assistants’ work. It must be admitted that the non-conformist approach to solving this kind of problems arising in the sphere of work is absolutely inevitable. Once using all possible means that have been considered the most widespread ones and yet with zero effect, a man is bound to come to the idea of utilizing specific approach eventually. Among these, the lean thinking approach takes one of the most important places. Since to err is humane, the consequences of thee errors are to be eliminated as soon as possible, which makes the use of the lean thinking model as necessary as ever.
Staff Training Procedure: Making Ends Meet
It must be admitted that the use of the Lean Thinking approach increases the efficiency of the working team in the sphere of Healthcare and at the same time provides the means to the most objective assessment of the processes going on in the laboratory, as well as the quality of the assistants’ work. Moreover, the Lean Thinking approach allows to create the path of the most efficient assistants’ training, which is also of crucial importance for the successful performance of the laboratory staff.
To obtain the maximum efficiency in the laboratory work, I have established the following rule: each laboratory staff member is supposed to file in a written report concerning the experiments that (s)he took part in or conducted and tell briefly the results of the experiment. With help of such approach, several goals are achieved: on the one hand, each event is being documented, which means that the laboratory work is orderly and accurate; on the other hand, the efficiency of the laboratory assistants increases, since they are unwilling to file in the information that discredits them.
On the Importance of Using Tools
Another important aspect of assessing the laboratory work of the scientist is the assessment of the people employed into the laboratory experiments. It cannot be doubted that the fair and objective evaluation of the laboratory members’ work contributes to the increase in their performance. Therefore, the key idea of the assessment is to provide the scientists with the motifs for their further researches and not to discourage them with harsh response; yet it is evident that the assessment must be fair, containing the critique of the given scientist. In the given case, the approach of lean thinking must also be helpful. That is why, each of the scientists group, both the senior ones and the assistants, are appreciated. With the lean thinking approach, it is important to provide the objective critique, pointing out the issues that the scientist still has to work on, and at the same time emphasizing the positive results that have been achieved.
Keeping Professional Secrets
Another important aspect that must be touched upon is the issue of retaining the information that the laboratory staff possesses. On the one hand, it is obvious that the staff is not supposed to discuss their laboratory issues with the people who are not involved into the laboratory experiments. Yet on the other hand it is clear that the excessive strictness concerning the working issues can also drive to certain undesirable results. For instance, it is of crucial importance for the clinicians to know about the latest discoveries of the scientists, so that people’s health would not be put at risk. Therefore, there is a strict line drawn between the issues that can be discussed with clinicians and doctors, and the ones that are not to be divulged to the rest of the world.
Analyzing the Results
It must be admitted that the effect of the lean thinking theory has proved excellent. With help of the postulates of the approach, it became possible to increase the efficiency of the laboratory assistants’ performance and obtain the highest results. It must be also marked that the technical aspect of the laboratory work was also improved significantly. With help if careful interpretation of the results, the performance of the participants has improved. It must be marked as well that the results obtained by the senior scientists and the assistants have been announced to them in public, which made them feel proud for their achievements and encouraged them for further “deeds” in the sphere of healthcare.
Conclusion
Speaking of the benefits that the course is bound to bring to me, I would like to mention the following:
- I will realize what makes the backbone of the coordination of the laboratory work.
- It will become possible for me to draw the schemes for sufficient laboratory work.
- I will be able to coordinate te laboratory process on the basis of the Lean Thinking Theory
- With help of the lean thinking approach, I will be able to understand the mechanics of the laboratory work.
- With the lean thinking approach, it will be easier to utilize more flexible tactics in assessing the efforts and the work quality of the laboratory assistants
- The lean thinking approach will help me to increase the efficiency of the laboratory assistants’ work.
