Introduction
Poetry has been a learning platform for many years and it serves greater importance to those who have interest in it. Like other forms of writing, poems are written to communicate ideas, emotional sensitivity, and generate images. Poetry is described as writing that expresses a concentrated, creating awareness of reality or a particular emotional reaction using language chosen and organized for its purpose, tone, and rhythm. Poetry is still an essential aspect of art and society today (Spears, 1991). This proposal by the Academy of the American Poet in response to NEA’s request for submission will be concerning the use of media. The radio and television help in broadcasting during the National Poetry Month to reach the largest audience possible.
We recognize that poetry can help us embrace our culture, provide economic possibilities, educate our citizens, and improve our lives. It pushes us to think differently of ourselves and the environment around us. Television, video, movie, music, sport, and the vast arts bombard consumers (Geoghegan, 2018). Therefore, it is confirmed that our entertainment is growing louder, edgier, and flashier to get through. It leaves no room for poetry’s modest pleasures, which frequently take multiple careful readings to appreciate fully. Therefore, developing skilled youths by influencing them with artworks is our ultimate goal. Our interest is also to bring up a unique cooperative generation.
Background
Today, many people are only exposed to poetry through inspiring excerpts on fridge magnets or a few words repeated every four years at a presidential inauguration. As a result, we at the Academy of American Poets believe that airing poetry on radio and television will enhance American awareness of poetry and aid in the restoration of a dying art form. It will make it easier to reach many individuals at once and in their environment, not to mention those unable to attend the YMCA.
The Academy of American Poets promotes poetry reading through outreach programs and has been renowned for administering National Poetry Month for many years. It also chains a portfolio of nine major poetry awards, attracting some of the most talented poets to vie for the various honors. The public, the academy, and the National Endowment of Arts (NEA) benefit greatly from this effort. It will support the National Endowment for the Arts in its efforts to promote new and existing creative greatness, introduce the arts to all Americans, and provide leadership in arts education (Coleman, 2021). In today’s market, a book of poems that sells five thousand copies is considered a success. It is not the fault of today’s many excellent bards, but rather the datum that verse in its conventional systems, with little advertising clout, has a hard time breaking into the mainstream of American culture. It demonstrates that to reach a large audience, we must adapt to new methods.
The Institute of American Poets will live stream the event in collaboration with Houston’s KUHF radio and television stations, as great poets deserve large audiences. The option to plan ad spots throughout the week at various times of the day gives for a comprehensive local reach, which is why broadcasting is more successful. Radio and television are two of the most significant channels targeting specific audiences (Allina, 2018). Purposes
The poem to be presented contains several lessons to the youths and society as a whole. The youth is advised to keep away from drugs and naughty behaviors that are likely to temper their daily lives. It is hard to stop abusing drugs when one starts; it is advisable to commit yourself to the normal daily duties to avoid being reluctant. Influence and peer pressure from friends are a great challenge to most youth today. They find themselves being involved in drug abuse, wasting their productive time. All youths must quit drug abuse and look for work to support themselves and their families. The poem will also address the society on how to use the available resources within their surroundings to develop productive products.
Problems
As an art writer, my effort in seeking a grant proposal is propelled by various challenges faced in the art field. After writing my reading, many problems arise when trying to sell my plans. Some of these myriad problems include finding aspirations; in most cases, finding aspirations has been a problematic issue as an artist. Writing a grant proposal to you will help build aspirations in me. Moreover, debt, material precariousness, oversaturated job markets, and overall lack of editorial attention are other significant challenges I have realized from my work. They execute reasons for writing a grant proposal to the National Endowment of arts solely to fund my writings to reach the targeted audience and influence them.
Proposal/plan/schedule
We intend to broadcast essentially creative and artistic poetry that will pique the interest of a big audience, as well as brief poems to keep our audience engaged. It will aid in the restoration of both our American culture and the poetic business. Our project will place a strong emphasis on innovation and inspiration through exposure to the arts. We will also support media projects that broaden the public’s knowledge and appreciation of the skills. Because of its multisensory appeal, television has the most creative potential of any medium compared to other media. Inventive directors can employ conversation, copy, audio, movement, scenery, lighting, and action to deliver an engaging message or story.
The managerial function is employee recruitment, selection, training, development, promotion, and staffing. The process of hiring and developing the necessary employees to fulfill the various positions in the business is known as staffing. Hiring qualified individuals will be a critical aspect of this project to comply with this new approach of performing the National Poetry Month reading. The academy will only hire the necessary personnel, including a President and Executive Director, a Senior Director of Digital Engagement and Content, an Advertising and Marketing Director, and a Content Editor. With our greater focus and proper coordination, the shortest time will be needed to put everything into accordance, including settling all the debts.
Staffing
Throughout our eleven years of working with first- and second-time filmmakers, we’ve encountered various roadblocks, many of which are gender, racial, and class-based. We support diversity among our filmmakers in all of its manifestations, including race and ethnic origin, class, location, age, religion, sexual orientation, physical ability, and subject matter (Goldstein et al., 2018). Moreover, we recruit many individuals interested in developing their art skills, thus helping the entire society. Each of our programs is specifically designed to meet the requirements of people of these diverse demographic groups. Our purpose is to link young and various artists to the documentary market by assisting them in navigating the jungle of film financiers, commissioning editors, and distributors. We envision a world where women nonfiction filmmakers of all backgrounds and experiences get steadfast support as they pursue artistic aspirations, develop viable careers, and advance industrial justice.
Budget
The spending approach of money to get an item or service in exchange is known as Budget. Making a spending plan enables you to assess whether you will have adequate money to do just what you want or need to do ahead of time. It also assures that you will always have enough money for the things you need and value. However, this shows our planned Budget in our study and how we utilize our financial resources to achieve a cost-effective program. The Academy of American Poets would like to propose a $5 million grant to carry out this endeavor. We are hoping for a favorable response, and we are confident that we will be successful. However, the figure below depicts our planned budget in our study, as well as how we plan to utilize our financial resources to achieve a cost-effective program.

It facilitates the development of innovative techniques to promote the growth of poetry in America and bring the arts to the people of America in a convenient and timely manner.
