Collaborations are interesting to the public, but they can also be incredibly difficult for the artists. This is especially true when a collaboration implies the united efforts of a large group of talented people who need to find a common ground. If this joint work becomes successful, it eventually produces an invaluable artifact that contributes to the cultural heritage of humanity. For me, the musical Alexander Hamilton has become one of such artifacts for me. While this work is generally attributed to Lin Manuel Miranda, it also involved a large number of highly talented musicians who carefully analyzed each other’s style (Cochrane, 2018). Their observations helped them find a common solution in terms of pace and arrangement, in which all of their talents bloomed. They also took valuable lessons from each other, not being afraid to learn from their colleagues. Their combined passion for presenting pivotal historical events in an impressive, entertaining manner is one of the main reasons why this musical has been such a success.
