The book Atomic Habits, written by James Clear, has been an absolute bestseller for the past years starting from 2018 when it was released. The reason this book became famous is that it offers a way to change people’s lives for the better. Atomic Habits provides a working strategy to liquidate bad habits, form good ones and improve their mindsets.
The book’s main idea is that habits constitute a complex process of self-improvement, and by using the proper methods systematically and regularly, people can become the ones they want. The author states that “everyone deals with setbacks, but in the long run, the quality of people’s lives often depends on the quality of their habits” (Clear 3). Clear also explains that “micro-habits compound over time, and true behavior change is identity change” (Shayder-Adams et al. 5509). The author’s purpose is to help people to change their lives gradually, strategically, and successfully. The intended audience is anyone who wants to initiate changes in their lives. Any person can apply these ideas regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. Clear states that if people want better results, they need to focus on their system instead of setting goals (Davies). The author accomplishes his purpose and structures the system using life-changing methods. The book deserves many ovations and is applicable in many situations (Schullery). I agree with the author’s claims because this book provides working methods for gaining good habits.
To conclude, Atomic Habits is an excellent book for any age and social status. For the past years, it has helped many people overcome their bad habits and improve their lives. The ideas that Clear represents are universal and essential for life improvement. Atomic Habits is deservedly one of the most popular books of recent years internationally because it brought new ideas.
