Mosquito bites are a relatively common phenomenon that occurs during the summertime or in areas with constantly warm weather and favorable climate. Those insects drink blood in order to feed themselves, and as a result, people get small cones in the places where mosquito bites them (Mosquito bites. Symptoms & causes, 2022). It is usually harmless and can only be supplemented with the feeling of itch and slight redness around the area. The most typical characteristics of the mosquito bite include a swollen spot, which appears right after the bite, and after a couple of days, it becomes tougher. Then during the healing process, it turns to bleb, and in the end, there is only a tiny bruise left.
Sometimes the symptoms might be more disturbing and create an allergic reaction in the organism. It is indicated by the wider red spot, dizziness, and heat. However, sometimes bites can cause severe consequences to the person and damage the health. Mosquitos serve as vectors which means that they can be vessels for various infections and transmit them to the people and animals through blood (Mosquito bites, 2022). For instance, insects can spread malaria and yellow fever, which result in noticeably different symptoms. If an individual after the mosquito bites feels a general weakness, experiences high temperature, and aches in the body, then there is a high chance of having an infection (Mosquito Bite Symptoms and Treatment, 2022). In most cases, the bites heal independently without any special interventions and leave no consequences on the human body or health. Still, on some occasions, people might need some medical help in order to eliminate the possible complications if they accidentally get an infection through the bite.
