An institutional, governmental, or social entity with a hierarchical system and numerous laws and guidelines is called a bureaucracy. People expect governments to deliver public benefits and services, as well as to address individual and social issues. Millions of state officials and other employees execute government policies when Congress and the president authorize them, along with the resources necessary to do so. Thus, though many people find bureaucracy inefficient, it is vital to uphold the welfare, equality, and improvement of citizens’ quality of life.

Recognizing bureaucracy as a functional necessity to any political system is vital. The value of bureaucracy is incorporating necessary policies. Bureaucrats recognize an issue that has been placed on the agenda and create an action plan to solve the problem (Harrison et al., 2022). Furthermore, this system is vital for the economic well-being of the country and millions of families since certain entities determine the costs of products and services and promote competition in the market (Harrison et al., 2022). Nevertheless, there are factors that make the bureaucracy detrimental to the political system. First, many citizens assume that the government has become too big, which implies that the government spends more money (Harrison et al., 2022). Additionally, many stress the concerns about the government performing duties that could have been done by other companies or workers, along with the issues regarding accountability of the officials.

As for the entities in bureaucracy, the SEC is a separate entity under the control of the American federal government. The SEC’s primary goal is to administer justice when it comes to market manipulation. In 2021, 434 additional legal actions were initiated, up 7% from the previous year, according to a statement from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC, 2021). This way, SEC effectively carries out its purpose by enforcing securities rules to safeguard citizens.

Hence, bureaucracy eventually strives to fulfill the objectives listed in the Constitution: to establish justice, guarantee peace and stability, improve welfare, and take the appropriate steps so that future generations will enjoy the benefits of freedom. The level of governmental services and privileges citizens are satisfied with depends on bureaucrats. Consequently, there is value in having public servants since they help achieve the goals of the nation.
