It is essential to note that by using Internet-based research, a scholar can attract a broad sample of participants. At the same time, there are ethical problems such as anonymity, privacy, and non-disclosure of participants’ personal data. Moreover, Internet-based research may involve juveniles, and this raises the challenge of obtaining parental consent (Gupta, 2017). Thus, in order to avoid ethical issues, it is advisable to send a questionnaire for participants to fill in primary data about themselves. This will help identify if the participants of the Internet study will be juveniles. Further, one should provide guarantees of privacy and anonymity to prevent data leakage on the Internet and obtain consent from parents of underage children (Gupta, 2017). I plan to modify the literature review and conduct Internet research on a problematic issue. This is due to the fact that the Internet allows to quickly find research participants and even with the aid of online surveys to collect the relevant data.
Qualitative research methods are used mainly for problem designation and hypothesis development. Alternatively, they can be applied as a preliminary before quantitative studies to determine key indicators. Researchers often adopt qualitative studies through discretion; for example, the representativeness of the sample and the absence of statistics are characteristics of qualitative research (Gupta, 2017). Accordingly, explorers value this analysis method because it enables them to adjust to the next stage. At the same time, ethical rules should be adhered to in specific research problems; for instance, in analyzing statistical data, encrypt samples (Gupta, 2017). The ethical considerations of qualitative research lay the foundation for ethical rules in the subsequent stages of the study (a survey or an interview). Thus, it is essential to design and specify primary ethical considerations and methods for dealing with them during qualitative research.
