These include F-35, F-16, Next Generation of Air Dominance, and F-15EX (Insinna, 2021). The F-22 was not selected due to its limitations, which make it unable to operate in the coming decades. As a result, the Air Force intends to retire the Raptor by 2030 (Insinna, 2021). Therefore, despite its impeccable qualities, the F-22s will likely be withdrawn from military operations.

The F-22 Raptor is among the fastest war crafts in the world. The aircraft’s stealth, speed, integrated avionics system, and maneuverability contribute to its success in air combat. Combining these features keeps the plane undetected by enemy forces and also aids in identifying, tracking, and eliminating air or ground threats. The F-22 was used for combat in Syria to thwart Islamic State operations. It later shifted to protecting other fighter jets from hostile forces due to its advanced capabilities.

Nevertheless, the Raptor has had several challenges over the years. In this case, the aircraft’s substantial operational expenses, obsolete technology, and reduced magazine depth and range have decreased its efficacy, lowering its chances of remaining in service. Consequently, the F-22 jets may be retired in the coming years.
