The Garage Project is a small brewery in Te Aro, Wellington, which was founded in 2011 by Pete Gillespie, Ian Gillespie, and Jos Ruffell (Thomas, 2016). It is important to pay attention to the fact that this brewery started to develop and attract customers as a small company that produced only about 50 liters in a kit monthly (Thomas, 2016). The main focus was on developing and proposing several variants of beer with unique tastes.
Currently, the Garage Project employs about 35 employees who work at the brewery and the company’s fermentation facility (Oliver & Bagge, 2015; Thomas, 2016). Although the company is discussed as the most actively growing brewery facility in New Zealand with its three-year growth of more than 660%, as it was reported by Deloitte in 2015, the available resources do not allow the Garage Project to increase its revenues or profits more significantly and address the demand for the proposed product (Oliver & Bagge, 2015; Thomas, 2016).
It is important to note that, currently, the brewery produces only about 2000 liters of beer monthly, and online sales of the product allow for covering the market not only in New Zealand but also in Australia, the United States, and Europe (Oliver & Bagge, 2015; Thomas, 2016). As a result, the annual revenues of the Garage Project can fluctuate from NZ$50,000 to NZ$500,000 per year, depending on the domestic and international demand for this beer (Oliver & Bagge, 2015; Thomas, 2016).
