Introduction

Leadership is an accepting and significant phenomenon that allows people to make decisions, lead others, and achieve positive results. Many experts agree that leaders require confidence to succeed, and the Aspire to Lead Webcast 2015 video focuses on what it means for women to be confident. Females are typically considered to lack this competence when compared to men, but sufficient evidence demonstrates that being confident is a choice (PwC Global, Careers Channel, 2015). This statement denotes that individuals can learn to be confident. Thus, the video under consideration is helpful since it mentions practical recommendations for women, and I will use them as a manager in the future.

Aspire to Lead Webcast 2015

The selected webinar discusses many significant ideas, but five recommendations for becoming more confident deserve more attention. These guidelines come from The Confidence Code and seem really helpful for women. Firstly, individuals should make risk-taking a routine because this approach contributes to personal and professional growth. Risk is personal, and every individual should determine what is risky for them. It can be making public speeches, trying something new, or any other activity. Secondly, people can become more confident if they do not think that their actions or words are the only reasons for problems. When some issues or conflicts arise, they can be caused by external factors, which denotes that thinking of alternative explanations is a productive technique. Thirdly, the video demonstrates that it is not reasonable to state that all leaders should have the same qualities. Female leaders can be quiet and calm, while male ones are considered loud and aggressive. Thus, one should not assess women according to strengths that are typical of men.

Fourthly, individuals can improve their leadership skills if they pass them on to others. A person should become a coach to their friend, relative, or colleague, and this strategy will become mutually beneficial for all the stakeholders. Finally, it is impossible to state that the process of gaining leadership is without fear and anxiety. That is why one should learn how to control their emotions and keep acting irrespective of being afraid.

I have found the ideas from the video informative and useful. Now, I understand that everyone can become an effective leader, and the recommendations stipulated above can help achieve this task. I have additionally learned that women are typically less confident than men, which manifests itself in the fact that females can only apply for promotion when they meet 100% requirements. However, men feel that it is sufficient to satisfy 60% to apply for a new job or position. It is challenging to overestimate the significance of this information for me because I can now better develop my leadership skills and qualities. I am sure that following the five recommendations above will be small but steady steps toward becoming a more effective leader.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I will use these guidelines when I become a manager in the future. On the one hand, I have already mentioned that the recommendation can help everyone become an effective leader, and I am not an exception. I will implement all these suggestions to improve my competence. On the other hand, these recommendations will allow me to contribute to leadership development among my subordinates. This approach will be good for these people and for my organization. Consequently, there is no doubt that the ideas from the video under consideration are productive since they contribute to leadership growth.
