Introduction
A stressful circumstance will always impact a person’s conduct, but since everyone responds to stress differently, it is impossible to say with certainty that this impact will be bad. Recently, a deadline that I was unable to adequately disperse caused one of the most stressful circumstances. That was a stressful and frightening situation because it directly affected the final course mark, which was quite significant.
Discussion
This situation can be described as an example of eustress. In the end, it became motivating and empowering my response, which is a key sign of eustress (Steven et al., 2014). I was given a group work assignment with a 10-day deadline, which I cut into bits while working on it. To include everyone, I gave my colleagues more detailed tasks to complete, concentrated on the most challenging elements, and maintained contact with all parties concerned. This became the key cognitive and behavioral response from me, including the emphasis on collaboration in order to get out of the stress situation. Alternatively, I could have set all my other tasks aside and concentrated my time entirely on this particular project. This could have led to better time management and resulted in swift gains (Steven et al., 2014). In this situation, setting personal goals by splitting the task into smaller pieces became crucial for me to achieve stress reduction. Emphasizing step-by-step goals and milestones helped me to carry out all the necessary work.
After this situation, I have understood that changing my reactions to stress, like in the described situation, can be beneficial in many settings. It can be further applied in the workplace or study sessions at the university, profiting from better results despite tight circumstances. In this regard, the crucial step will be to master time management and other collaboration strategies that will ensure personal growth and modify my environment in both personal and professional sphere.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that a situation is possible when a wise person is not able to cope with stress or produce an adequate resilience action. Sometimes, a person is not able to control his behavior during stress, but he can alter his actions which will lead to stress reduction. It is, thus, crucial to understand different types of stress and the alternative to get rid of it.
