Introduction
Probability is a common term applied in defining a mental attitude towards a specific suggestion which we are not sure of. The interested suggestion is typically of the type, will a certain event take place?
In Texas Hold ‘em, (a kind of poker game), a strategy is just as important as the player. It is for this reason that experienced players fail to retain a consistent win unless they know the kind of strategy to apply at different levels of the game. In most cases, winning strategies are those accepted by the players especially those that have attained the champion status. Such players are experts of the game and have a consistent record of winning (King, 2005).
Porker strategies
Champion players also know that to maintain constant record of winning, one has to choose players to play with carefully in order to be always able to play with players who are less experienced than you are. This is a silent rule of the game. Therefore, each player needs to sharpen his/her skills and also select his/her opponents.
There are as many strategies of playing porker as there are players. Every player identifies a strategy that work for him/her and puts in efforts to learn everything about the strategy. As much as strategies are different, they all have a common objective of achieving a raised scoring hand (Mike, 1996).
Strategy that will work
For this particular game, Deception strategy is the best suited. This strategy suits this game because the player has a single opponent. With a single opponent challenging the player, the player can focus on deceiving his/her opponent to behave different from how they would have behaved if they were seeing their own cards.
In addition, the player can also buff the opponent. By buffing, the player bets on the opponent’s hand that is weak. By doing so, the opponent will hide their hand which is superior.
Furthermore, the player can semi bluff the opponent because he/she does not have a hand which is strong considering that the player has only $10, 000 left. Semi bluffing also gives one a chance to improve your weaker hand in forth coming rounds. The player can then strongly bet the hand with expectations that the opponent will fold his weaker hand (King, 2005).
Furthermore, through deceptive strategy, one can engage your opponent in slow playing. You can bet your strong holding and manipulate your opponent to fold.
The strategy is liked because of the benefits the player derives from it in forthcoming hands even if the he/she is bluffed with $24000 in the on going game. By allowing your opponent to observe you, there is a higher probability that the player will not buff. This is because the opponent will not be in a position to call their bet especially if their hands are not so good (King, 2005).
The idea is to show your opponent that one always plays slowly. The opponent will not notice any sign of weakness on your side to take advantage.
Deception strategy mathematically
Sample size (r)=(n i)/r i(n-r)
Where n=number of items
r=sample size
!= factoral operator
52/5=52/5! (52-5)o
!=52/5*5/52
!=5*52/5
!=5
Conclusion
In conclusion, deception is a mind sharpening strategy that requires skills as well as tactic so that the player can understand when to the opponent into folding his weaker hand. The strategy is very nice for a player without other good options and gives the player an opportunity to improve forthcoming games.
