Insights and My Understanding of Aviation Training
Training is an essential aspect of the development of human resources in the aviation sector because of the nature of the activities involved. Andragogy is the foundation of an effective administration as it makes workers productive and efficient (Long & Torrence, 2021). Encountering these findings has enhanced my understanding of airline learning programs.
Preferred Orientation of Learning
I am most aligned with the postmodernist orientation of learning as it advocates for equality in teaching and promotes critical thinking. The tenet further aims at developing individual and social identity, knowledge production, and discovering new things, thus making it an essential reference to intercultural training in aeronautics (Zahorodna et al., 2022).
Theories Worth Exploring Further
The adult learning approach is worth pursuing as it provides complete insight into how mature individuals acquire information and how it differs from children. Through this tenet, an adult educator can recognize which learning styles best suit mature students (Willis, 2021). The questions regarding adult intercultural training in the airline sector include: What percentage of trainees fail the training? Do adult students feel offended by having to learn and respect other people’s cultures? I am left wondering if all airlines offer complete training to their employees without charging them from their salary.
Changes in Thinking Patterns Over Time
The human thinking and memory retention process changes from childhood to early adulthood. Mature individuals become more adaptable in their thinking, thus bringing about the post-formal thought (Lövdén et al., 2020). Many thinking abilities are developed during early adulthood, and the depreciation begins in middle age when adults start to have slow reflexes (Lövdén et al., 2020). During the late adult period, the brain’s ability to develop further comes to a halt (Lövdén et al., 2020).
Implications of Adult Cognitive Development for Aviation Training
Intercultural training is essential to aviation and might support the economic development of the respective airlines that implement the programs. The coaching will promote cross-cultural communication, which is vital in the sector as it offers services to culturally diverse societies (Radul et al., 2022). Mutual understanding is enabled as the trainees get trained in various languages, thus improving customer relationships since there is a two-way conversation.
