In addition, sport is able to unite students, extend their friendship and spirit of the team, making students more considerate and abstemious. There are a lot of films devoted to the topic of sport in college. They involve the readers into the atmosphere of college life and make them experience some events together with the main characters. Blue Chips is one of such films.
Main text
Blue Chips is a wonderful movie that was shot in 1994. The film tells the story of the basketball coach Pete Bell, played by Nick Nolte. The movie comprises definite quantity of basketball and scenes of college life, but first of all it is a sport movie where nothing depends on the winner of the game. This film is almost completely told on behalf of Pete, telling his points of view. From the very beginning of the movie we witness a massively pleasant character that is so anxious about his basketball team, striving for making it the second to none. Pete is a very honest person and he does not cheat on the recruiting rules whatever happens, as honesty during the game is his only policy.
Everything seems to be perfect in his life, as he is involved in favorite deal, but still life is so unexpected and finally Pete faces some problems. He is honest man and cheating is not in his rules. At the same time he is between the devil and deep blue sea, as he is forced to cross the crooked step. His team is not a winner and he is not able to attract any new players into the team. Future stars are surreptitiously feed by boosters. This practice is prohibited during the college games, but Pete is distracted and depressed from everything around him. So, our hero has to make the right decision that seems to be so difficult for him, that is why we observe his constant struggle with consciousness. There is some sort of inner fight inside the person.
Conclusion
As we know people are different, that is why it is possible to offer different suggestion in order to solve this situation. To my mind, the only reasonable decision is to refuse and stick to own point of view, as cheating can not lead to anything positive as a result. Moreover, steroids are very harmful for sportsmen and Pete realizes it that is why he refuses to take this practice and use them. The only advice that can be given to Pete in this situation is to remain himself and stick to his ideas and beliefs, as there is nothing more important then being a person in any situation.
