Introduction
In the life of each person, turning points are made that make us rethink all previous lived experiences. Often this can be a strong emotional shock that will affect the further psychological formation of a person. Another option is the need to make a choice – because only by making a difficult choice or refusing to make it, do people understand their true nature. A person often understands himself much deeper precisely in stressful situations when a specific action is required from them.
Main Part
My case that influenced my whole life is connected with the lack of choice and the need to turn it into a new valuable experience. Once I had to administer an important resource for me in social networks. I was contacted by a photo artist who needed help setting up several social media platforms to post his art. I am an extremely active user of social networks and know how to recruit and attract an audience. Therefore, it was very curious and important for me to take on this kind of work.
The problem was that I did not quite understand what exactly the photographer who gave me this job was trying to say. He had many requirements and he wanted to see a positive result, an audience that appeared. However, his demands were highly artistic and slightly snobbish, expressed in a language that I found difficult to try on in the field of social networks. However, instead of trying to find a common language and understand his aspirations, I only pretended to hear his requests. After working on promoting this foltograf for several weeks, I received an audio message from him. He was angry that I did not understand the artistic tasks and could not express them, as well as. I was denied access to every one of his social networks, and the little money he promised me for my work was never paid to me. Needless to say, I was initially very disappointed with myself, not the customer. It seemed to me that if I failed this task, then it makes no sense to continue doing what was so interesting to me.
However, literally on the same day, I received a letter from a classmate friend. He asked if I was still working on social networks and if I could help collect followers on his Instagram account. I need to mention that in his case, everything was extremely simple – it was a blog dedicated to urbanism and proud landscapes. In this regard, I could easily find a suitable audience. The most important thing is that my work was appreciated – not with money but with recommendations that my friend began to distribute to friends. As a result, letters began to come to me with a variety of proposals for cooperation on the Internet – in fact, I even had to filter them out. In this way, I retained my favorite pastime and faith in myself and my skills.
Conclusion
I explained the case that happened to me by referring to what I called “the theory of closed doors.” The essence of this theory is extremely simple – if some seemingly valuable opportunity leaves you, it means that a new one, more suitable and worthy, will soon appear. you can’t knock on closed doors, figuratively speaking. It doesn’t make sense to try to influence something you can’t, and it’s better to focus on your skills, don’t blame yourself for not being able to, and look for new options. The realization of this simple “theory” was a turning point in my life, shaped and consolidated me as a person.
