The theory of intelligent design can be criticized or loved, you can treat it differently, but it has vast merit – it exists. It means that its proponents have formulated some of the main provisions of this theory and can demonstrate inferences based on them, which indicates that in this sense, the idea of intelligent design has taken place. Intelligent design is an anti-evolutionary theory that states that naturalistic explanations for some biological objects, such as DNA, are unsatisfactory and that these objects can only be explained by intelligent design.

Some complex organs of animals can be considered from the point of view of this theory. For example, chameleons are inhabitants of Sultry Africa, which gained fame for their unique ability to change skin color. From the standpoint of intelligent design, one can speculate how an animal can distinguish between surrounding colors and, at the same time, adapt to them. Indeed, it can be assumed that such a complex mechanism could have been made by an intelligent creator. In turn, there is evidence that the process of how chameleons alter color is entirely dependent on their condition and surrounding changes. This fact, even more, reflects the uniqueness of this creation, which can experience emotions from the point of view of intelligent design. Thus, the ability of a chameleon to change color, which depends on many factors, can be justified using the theory of intelligent design. After all, it can be assumed that such a complex mechanism could not have formed through evolution. Moreover, there is no exact information about the place of origin of chameleon among scientists, which also contributes to the actualization of the theory of intelligent design.

Although the accurate evolutionary history of color change in chameleons is still unknown, there is one aspect that has already been definitively studied: the effect of signal efficiency, that is, changes taking place in the environment. Moreover, the transformation of shades occurs only with a particular chain of actions. When light hits the retina of a chameleon’s eye, it affects the nervous system. Signals are transmitted to the brain and then to chromatophores – cells that change color. Scientists have found that such metamorphoses can occur under the influence of several emotional and physiological factors. First of all, it is worth noting the effect on the animal’s body of a specific temperature, lighting, and humidity. Furthermore, chameleon color palettes have evolved through evolution and the environment. Chameleons living in the wood have a more defined and colorful palette than chameleons living in the desert, which have a brown palette. Thus, although there are some gaps in the evolutionary theory in studying the origin of chameleons, their peculiarity to change color, which has improved in the process of evolution, is fully described by scientifically proven facts.
