Domestic crime and general gender violence are the most common problems affecting women and children around the world. Half of the sufferers feel too vulnerable and helpless to contact the police or a support center right after the accident. Unfortunately, many people may not have access to a shelter in their city and have to stay alone against the threat (Karmen, 2019). This concern is a way more severe global matter and should be instantly debated in modern society. Despite the apparent impression of public support for targets of brutality and the constant building of new help centers, this problem has not yet been sufficiently developed. The statistics of completed cases demonstrate that modern justice practices are not fully persuasive.
I fully agree with the answer of a classmate and strongly support the position on the need for assistance for victims of violence. Over 70% of cases come from partners and people the sufferer already knew (Karmen, 2019). It means that owning a home is no longer a guarantee of safety, and people might need urgent asylum pending further proceedings. In addition, there is a strong demand for specialists to demonstrate to the victims all rights and possibilities to protect themselves. Many people remain unaware of their rights and the frameworks of personal freedoms and boundaries. They do not understand that rape actions can belong to different categories and cases. Any act against the will of a person should be strictly punished by law. Information about such help centers and contacts of specialists should be publicly available: in schools, stores, restaurants, women’s centers, and so on. Introductory lectures should also be held to disseminate information in academies and workplaces.
