Health is one of the most essential things in human life because the healthier people are, the more motivation and desire they have to live, work and enjoy life. However, health is not the absence of illnesses; this term also includes well-being. Health includes many aspects such as positive emotions, good mood, absence of negative feelings, and, most important – life satisfaction. In addition, being healthy means being in harmony with feelings and emotions, which influences well-being and can prevent diseases. Health includes the absence of diseases, positive physical and social environments, life satisfaction, and well-being, which consists of the absence of negative emotions.

Health is connected with well-being, which consists of positive feelings, life satisfaction, productivity, and desire to live. Patients think that health is the absence of illnesses, but this is not all. Positive emotions, the ability to enjoy life, and avoid negative feelings are considered as well-being (CDC, n.d.). Well-being includes productivity, social connectedness, healthy habits, and the absence of mental or physical illnesses. On the contrary, the absence of well-being might lead to diseases. For instance, a non-productive person with life dissatisfaction would feel ill, even without illnesses, due to a lack of well-being. Health is the resource that allows people to meet their needs, develop and cope with problems (CDC, n.d.). Health is presented in life’s social, psychological, physical, and emotional aspects. For example, a lack of social interactions leads to negative emotions, which badly impacts psychological well-being and might cause disease. The ability to maintain all these aspects means being healthy and being able to enjoy life. Thus, health includes well-being, which means coping with difficulties, satisfying needs, and being productive and satisfied with life, which results in the absence of diseases.

Health is the ability to maintain physical and mental well-being, which is impacted by the environment and its ability to adapt. Earlier mental well-being was not regarded as part of being healthy, and people with mental issues were named lunatics, but presently the situation has changed. Mental health is an integral part of well-being and the ability to react to stressful situations and cope with psychological problems (Murdaugh et al., 2019). However, it is hard to be healthy in an unhealthy environment. For instance, if depressed people surround a person, there is an excellent chance of getting depressed too. Health is not a fixed state, especially mental health. Many life circumstances influence people’s moods and emotions, including mental health. Maintaining physical and mental well-being is connected with the environment, especially adapting to environmental features. In this case, health is the state of successful adaptation that allows becoming a whole integrated person, which positively affects mental health. Therefore, having harmony between physical and mental well-being and being able to adapt to the environment means being healthy.

To summarize, health consists of different parts and includes a balance between social life and physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, the ability to adapt to environmental features is the core of the term health. Health is not only the lack of diseases but also the presence of positive thoughts, mood, productivity, and life satisfaction. That is why being healthy means having no illnesses, being balanced with thoughts and emotions, having life satisfaction, being productive at work, and enjoying life.
