Movies have long been an integral part of people’s daily lives. Televisions and set-top boxes have mostly been purchased for home movies in the last decade. This situation raises the question of where it is better to watch movies – in a theater or at home. Current trends show that the first option occurs to be more attractive. First, watching movies at home is very convenient for saving time and energy. A room with a screen is a kind of cinema where people do not have to get travel to the town. There is no need to wait the turn for clothes in the closet or for a portion of popcorn. Home movie theaters are more cost-effective since even the most expensive subscription to an Internet resource will cost less than tickets purchased to see the same movies in a theater.
Due to pandemic realities, choosing to watch movies at home makes more sense regarding health safety. Moreover, the personal protective equipment required in a movie theater can cause discomfort and make it difficult to watch. Finally, watching movies at home allows viewers complete freedom in organizing their leisure time (Grubba 102). Modern providers enable people to choose movies of any genre and year of release. Viewers are just as free in their choice of viewing format: some people prefer the noisy company of friends, while others want to watch a moving piece of literature alone. Factors such as lighting, air temperature, interior design, food, and drinks are given a choice to viewers who choose to watch a film at home. Due to technological development, cinemas at home can provide more comfortable acoustic and visual facilities than some cinema halls, especially old ones.
