Case 1

While analyzing the conduct of the teacher in the first scenario it is noted that the conduct is not right and the teacher is liable to the student’s present condition. The teacher should be more attentive while conducting practical classes in the lab and must warn each and every student to wear safety glasses. The practical classes should be conducted carefully as it is dangerous and may cause great explosion. Heating elements in test tubes over the open Bunsen burner without wearing any safety measures is highly dangerous and will cause disaster. The teacher should warn the student of the danger and force the student to wear safety glasses if he or she is not wearing it. There should be no discrimination of good or bad, careful or careless among the students and the precaution is applicable for the entire students. In this case scenario the teacher allowed the student to boil the chemical without wearing any safety measures, only under the impression of the student’s alertness. The explosion and loss of vision of the student is mainly caused by the teacher’s careless attitude towards the student and his ability. If I am the teacher I have the obligation to warn the students and force them to take safety measures and it is not correct for me to allow a student who is brilliant to boil the chemical without wearing safety glasses. Being the chemistry teacher I have the responsibility in the case of the student who lost vision. It is my fault because I permitted the student to heat the element in the open air without any safety measures which caused the explosion. Had I forced the student to put on the goggle, this mishap would not have happened.

Case 2

This scenario is based on teacher’s response on the topic’ is religion an issue that should be discussed for the students’. The opinion of the World History teacher is that to know the cultures and history of the world, students should have a clear picture of the religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Jainism. The teacher is of the opinion that to understand more about this, they should discuss to the students; so he included readings, lectures, and guest speakers in the school. The teacher is of the opinion that an intelligent and conscientious citizen of the nation should have a thorough knowledge about world history and social science. He is of the stern belief that for a thorough understanding of this challenging world it is not enough to have a straightforward learning of events but the students should learn about the different religions that exist in this world and their culture, behavior and life style of the people belonging to the different religions. “Through a developing clarity of understanding the rich hues which make up the tapestry of history become visible.” (Department philosophy, 2005, para.2). By giving a thorough understanding of the various religions they will be able to understand the preconception of every individual around them and can easily adjust with every kind of people around them. The teacher is of the opinion that in this hasty world, students need to build up the patience to struggle for acquiring sudden and simple answers for the difficult problems which they are facing. A real study of these different religions is necessary to know more about the history of the world. When the teacher includes reading, lectures and guest speakers throughout the academic year to explain the doctrine of these religions, the students will have a thorough picture about the world history. So this discussion in the class is a necessary one for the enrichment of the student’s career.

Case 3

The teacher should take the information seriously and find out the girl who is thinking of suicide. Thereafter, he should ask the girl’s problem, especially the reasons which made the girl to think of suicide. The teacher should ask the problems softly and not in a rough and rude way. If the teacher shows this consideration to her, she will surely reveal her problems. After understanding the problems of the girl the teacher should give her proper counseling. The advice should focus on the simplicity of her problem and the ways to solve the problem. If her problems are serious and need proper action, the teacher should inform her parents as soon as possible; and if it is not serious he should try to handle it himself and solve it to avoid a dangerous situation.
