Introduction
Human beings interact with systems in numerous ways and an interface is essential in actualizing this engagement. Computer applications predominantly utilize graphical user interfaces since they allow individuals to interact with lively characters in a manner that cannot be attained with other similar interface models (Alter, 2018). To establish an enhanced understanding of the interplay between human and computer display, an observation of an individual interacting with a phone-based system shall be made.
Description of the Interface
The users interact with a screen that shows the following features. The display includes creating an account, managing an account, signing in to the system, subscription to the desired vendor to receive notifications, and discovering new offerings of various vendors through the discovery window. Other features encompass receiving in-app notices, actioning notifications as defined by the vendor, viewing the vendor catalog, and adding items to the cart.
Functions of the System
The main function of the system is to make the process of the end user and vendor communication as simple as possible since the functionality offered in the app is limited to that which is most pertinent to the user. The system allows vendors to provide services and products to the consumers while users too can access these services from multiple vendors all under a single window.
The Social Environment of the System
The system is an innovative information technology platform that is used by service and product vendors to engage with customers. The platform permits bi-directional communication between the vendor and end users. This is applicable in providing government services that require initial applications before final approval by an authorized officer.
Observation of Group Members
Observation of group members using the system reveals seamless flow. It appears that the user experiences no difficulty in understanding and navigating the overall structure of the application. It could be attributed to an effective user interface design that is friendlier with an optimal experience. The application’s process flow seems ideal since the user requires minimal clicks to reach level two or three items in the app.
Conclusion
System interactions remain an essential aspect for the running of any business, IT-reliant system, or organization. Designs of computer interfaces often seek to optimize user experiences such as the efficiency of use and learnability. Despite being a multiservice and multivendor platform, the system allows for easy process flows for the consumer. It could be attributed to a user interface design that is easier and friendlier.
