In an effort to continuously improve the standard of living, the government of any city pays special attention to security, considering it the indicator of successful domestic policy. In the case of Abu Dhabi, one of the fastest growing centers of culture in the UAE, achieving security is an urgent issue. A large number of people live here, and the regular flow of tourists and visitors calls for increased monitoring by law enforcement agencies.
Security is the tranquility of the city’s residents and their confidence that special boards are always ready to help if necessary. The importance of this confidence is significant since it depends on the level of citizens’ trust in the authorities and power structures. When assessing the level of Abu Dhabi’s security, it is possible to note the highest level of equipping the local police, which guarantees the population full protection (MOIUAE, 2015).
The influence that the confidence of the people plays is of great importance from both a social and an economic point of view. Citizens feel protected and ready to create their own business, to organize platforms for the promotion of goods and services without fear of any illegal actions. Significant influence is played by the government and the structures that are subordinate to it.
Responsibility for security lies with the authorities and law enforcement agencies. According to Tan and Kaur (2016), Abu Dhabi is a city that has great potential in terms of protecting the population. The responsibilities of the local police include comprehensive control over all the spheres of life. The role of citizens in this process is to follow the law, and if each branch of the system works reliably, security will be an indispensable condition of life.
