The most prominent concept for me was the concept of impoliteness in the workplace towards nurses. The main task of nurses is to care for the sick and help in restoring health. This profession is challenging, and sometimes, in the environment where nurses work, emotions can reach a fever pitch and get out of control. Workplace incivility is ubiquitous and can be detected in any medical facility. Incivility is unacceptable because the rudeness of colleagues or patients has a significant negative impact on nurses. Incivility rarely ends in one act, more often, it becomes spiral-shaped and has a recurring character. The lack of control to reduce incivility in the workplace leads to patients suffering, on whom the pain and resentment of nurses can be vented, and in general to a significant decrease in the quality of healthcare.
Delving into the topic of incivility will allow me to understand the reasons for this behavior of colleagues and patients and to study how it can be eradicated. In addition, through a detailed study of incivility, several psychological measures can be developed that will allow nurses to remain in balance and not worry about negative situations. As teachers of nurses, information on how to cope with incivility in the workplace will help me to make sustainable professionals who will know their purpose, purpose and will be able to cope with the negative behavior of patients, their family members, or colleagues. In addition to dealing with the incivility that has already arisen, it is possible to develop some measures that will help to exclude its occurrence altogether. It is also essential to work with a team member who brings discomfort to colleagues and behaves uncivilly.
