The document expresses the level of injustice in the country and the way there has been an imbalance of the rule of law. It can also be noted that the leaders who had been elected by the people used power to oppress not only the citizen of the country but also those of other countries. The main tone of the document was the then King of Great Britain. This was through showing how he had formulated the rules that governed the people and the strategies he had employed to make sure that he always influenced every aspect of the ruling, from the executive to the judiciary. This helped him to deprive the people’s freedom; this could be noted when he refused his governors to pass laws until he approved them. When he saw that they were not favorable to his ruling, he neglected to attend them. It could also be noted that he deprived the people of their democracy (Roark & Johnson, A2). For instance, he dissolved the House of Representatives for opposing his ruling and strategy. In such dissolution, he was able to appoint his allies; this was a group of leaders who did not represent the people and could not disrespect him.

The King of Great Britain is portrayed as the tone of the document through the way he obstructed the administration of justice. This could be noted in many ways; for instance, he has refused the laws that outlined the judicial powers (Roark & Johnson, A2). In addition, he made judges be his puppets and only to precede cases according to his jurisdiction as opposed to that of the court. In so doing, he used power to oppress and intimidate his opposers and anyone who crossed his line of rule. According to Roark & Johnson (A2) “this was successful by making the judges depend on him; their tenure in their offices and even their salaries depended on his decision”.

The king has also been put as the tone of the document by showing how he laid his strategy to make sure that he was not overthrown by anyone. He constituted laws that allowed foreigners to reside in the country; they paid back by funding his campaign. This helped to protect the troops from trials of the large masses of people they had been commanded to kill (Roark & Johnson, 2). In the imposition, it could be noted that they imposed taxes without the consent of the people, abolished the English laws, and invested powers to legislate all the people.

The King of Britain has also been toned as to have declared the people out of protection and started wars against the people. This helped them in the control of power; when divided they could not be able to rise against him. In order to adverse his ruling, the King of Britain took huge troops of mercenaries overseas to kill people in the name of helping them. Consequently, they focused on getting some wealth from the country. The citizens of the countries were forced to go abroad to become executioners so that the king could adverse his ruling. Roark & Johnson (A2) notes that “Although this oppression had been petitioned in the most humble manner, the only answer was repeated injuries”. In conclusion, the king used all the powers at his disposal to rule the people.
