Introduction

The use of language by a culture usually is reflective of their way of life and can be used to describe the tribe in a manner that cannot be questioned. In my case, I am giving the tribe that I am going to try and recreate its culture “THE ARIMI TRIBE” so that referencing to the tribe can be easy. We can decipher the Aramis way of life including their culture and environmental setup through the study of the Arimi language.

A farming tribe

The landscape where the Arimi is located is highly likely off the land because they don’t have any names for a water body, the ocean, to be specific. This is a clear indication that the Arimi people have not encountered an ocean in their day-to-day life activities. The Arimi perhaps live on a plateau land as explained by the terrain of their lands. The “rolling” landscape is an indicator that the lands are vast as in flat with some ranges as in “slightly hilly”. This type of terrain is most likely in a rift valley.

The Arimi is a farming tribe as explained by the many names for grains. They specialize in wheat farming which explains the many names for wheat. Wheat most likely turns out to be their staple food. Wheat farming and the description of snow show that they live in a high-altitude area that is also very fertile. The many words that describe precipitation and only one for snow show that the land most likely rains quite often but rarely snows. The Arimi is also likely to be vegetarians because although they keep animals as described in the names for cow, pig calf, and sheep, they lack names that can describe meat from these animals.

The synonymy of their description of a woman to a wife and a man to a husband shows that they are highly likely engaged in marriage and the traditions that appertain to the process of marrying.

Arimi’s values

The Arimi are people who value maturity and wisdom. This is explained in the fact that there are different stages of development up to puberty then one is considered to be a mature individual, therefore the many words for stages of development in life up to puberty but only one for life beyond puberty and sex is taken as an activity that helps bring more wisdom to the land. They also most likely have a system of leadership that is well organized.

The leaders are held in high esteem by society and therefore children are given names that include the name “leader”. There’s however no supreme leader among the Arimi, therefore, they lack a name for such a leader. The Arimi is probably involved in telling the future by reading the stars therefore the name “stargazer”. This may also be an art among the Arimi. The Arimi could be lacking a concrete religion but maybe having a certain belief in supernatural things therefore they engage in stargazing.

The Arimi is likely a peace-loving people thereby lack names for war and conflict. They are highly likely an isolated people or people who are closely related and who have high regard for these relationship bonds or maybe some people are involved in ensuring that peace prevails among the Arimi; who are described as mediators or peacemakers. Therefore they can keep off any conflicts.

They may also be having an education system that involves the use of books thereby describing a book. They are also likely to be very artistic people who use theatre as a way of passing messages or entertainment. This comes from their description of theatre. The many names describing an artist show that the Arimi have people who engage in art as a way of life or profession.

Conclusion

Therefore in conclusion we can say that the Arimi tribesmen most probably are people who are quite advanced in their way of life as in they have formal ways of doing things. They also specialize in work activities and duties and responsibilities are divided among the people. They are also not traders nor do they carry out any businesses with other people since there is no reference to trading centers or markets. They are most likely simple highland dwelling people who have no formal religious ways. They are very much related to the modern civilizations in their ways.
