The French have a propensity to believe that they are always right. They also believe that other people are always trying to prove them wrong. They wonder why people do not speak French instead of English, why many people prefer American movies to French movies, and why people do not do things in a manner similar to theirs.

French people believe that they are right in all matters and situations. The post office is one of the areas where French people’s belief of being always right is evident. Employees believe that they are right because they are French and employed by the government, hence cannot lose their jobs easily.

Their attitude of being right is explained by how they menially treat customers at the post office. They make customers wait for long hours on pretext that they are preparing themselves for work. Another example that explains French people’s attitude is the announcement of the 2012 Olympics host.

When London was named host, the French wondered how the Olympics committee could be so wrong by selecting London. The games should have been held in Paris, France. The French hate English-speaking countries for many reasons. English-speaking countries do not use things that they invent. For example, the world opted for the World Wide Web that was invented by an Englishman instead of the Minitel, which was invented by the French.

French people’s attitude of being always right is also evident in conversations. They believe that their opinions are right and as a result interrupt conversations in order to give their opinions. They do not allow other people to give their opinions. In addition, they do not accept other people’s opinions because they believe that they are wrong.

French people’s attitude of being right always dates back to 1789 and to the French revolution. People were required to obey orders from leaders who were considered right all the time. The French are right about many things. Food does not taste better by using foreign names to refer to it, it was beneficial for French people to leave Vietnam in 1954, invading Iraq was a bad idea, and compliments given to women do not signify a man’s intention to rape.

On the other hand, they are wrong about several things. For example, they believe that people love passive smoking, many customers loathe being served, nuclear power does not pollute the environment, and Benny Hill is the best British comedian. They also believe that all Britons are polite, laughing loudly makes a joke funnier, and they invented French fries. Even though they are wrong, it is not advisable to tell them that they are wrong about certain things.
