Resonating Cultural Perspectives on Creativity

The state, regulating the functioning of the basic systems of society, acts as the primary sponsor, supporting cultural activities. At the same time, culture directly affects creativity, and each country has unique characteristics. The culture of Brazil resonates the most with me as it has the greatest sense of freedom. Brazil’s hybrid culture, which commenced with brutality and blood, indicates how diverse songs, ceremonies, promos, and arts harmonize (Dessen & Torres, 2019).

There is no single culture in Brazil, but there is no disunity, and this trait is most pronounced in creativity. The tune and hops are from Africa, the paint mixtures are inherited from the Indians, and even the sacred ceremonies in Brazil are effortlessly connected with strict Catholic regulations (Dessen & Torres, 2019).

A striking example of the country’s originality is the pagan festival, where everyone can convey their unpretentious sentiments and affection. At the same time, Brazilian creativity is a bit in the shadow of the mainstream, despite its brightest identity. This lightness, simplicity, and diversity resonate most with me, and the world should pay more attention to Brazilian artists, musicians, and writers.

Surprising Insights on the Cultural Impact of Creativity

It has long been known that culture is a way of life and undeniably influences creativity. Despite the obvious aspects of culture’s influence on creativity, the fact that creativity greatly influences culture is new to me. Culture programs the personality and tends to make typical not only the individual’s behavior but also consciousness, thinking, and feelings (Lander, 2020). Creativity relies on structures that capture new forms of human experience in new historical circumstances.

I was surprised that the two phenomena could be similar and different simultaneously, since it is generally accepted that culture shapes creativity. Nevertheless, creativity is not retrospective or reproductive but prospective and productive. It combines invariable semantic units of culture and the creation of new ones based on the individual tragedy of existence (Shao et al., 2019). Culture is sustained by creativity, nourished by it: both in the maintenance of old norms and values and in the creation of new ones.
