Dear Mr.
As already deliberated in the last staff meeting, our company could register only very marginal growth in the recent past due to severe competition in the market, and several other reasons. Business turnover of the company stayed below our expectations this year. In fact, our financial analyst has pointed out that unless some drastic measures are in place, we may not be able to make profits.
I have enclosed detailed data of the turnover: past six months, recent three months and projected for the near future. From the trend the information reflects, it may please be seen that under the present circumstances, we are left with no option but to relieve some of our human resources to reduce overheads so that we can hope to stabilize our financial status at least to some degree.
Hence, our only option is to inform you that your position will have to be rendered as excess. This decision in no way reflects your performance at the workplace. Your enthusiasm and dedication to the company have been exemplary and we always appreciate that. We are, in fact, having to trim our employee strength. We, however, take solace in the fact that we are ready to give reference and offer all possible assistance to you in finding a new job.
It is indeed unfortunate that we won’t be able to use your services with effect from August 20, 2007. Details of your gratuity and final expenses are enclosed. The insurance company will be contacting you directly regarding claims and future coverage.
We wish you all the best for the future. We also hope to let you know of it in case the company gains its former position in the market and we will gladly consider hiring you for another term of employment.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
H.R Manager

Subject: Replacement of defective mobile phone
Dear Customer Care Team,
I have purchased a Nokia 9500 mobile through your website (Transaction ID: 33446699 – paid through my American Express Credit Card # 1111 2222 3333 4444) and I received the consignment yesterday. The same is found defective and I need an immediate replacement.
This is due to the reason that though the said model boasts of 640 x 200-pixel picture quality for its main/internal display; I found the screen quality is much less than what is stated and it gives a faded, pale look. I have been a regular user of Nokia cell phones and I am a loyal and very satisfied patron of the brand. However, this occasion gave me a different experience than what I had been used to. Obviously, the transaction has been carried out in a lackadaisical manner that falls below the level of professionalism your company has set.
Under the aforesaid circumstances, I am returning the consignment. Please replace the defective equipment with a new set that fully meets the quality prescribed. In case this is not possible, I may be given a full refund of the amount charged against my card. I would also appreciate it if you could kindly pass on suitable instructions to the quality control department to check the articles before they are transshipped to the customers.
I look forward to hearing from you early.
Regards,
Signature and Name.
