Business idea 1
Unique Food Service Business and Entrepreneurship
In almost every street in the city, you will find at least five full-service restaurants or quick-service restaurants along with it. Foodservice businesses and entrepreneurship is an evergreen venture and one that is on a steady but quick rise. This is because food is a basic need.
The available restaurants do offer different services to cater to the growing market. There are those that specialize in traditional foods while there are those that offer both traditional and modern food types. However, most of these restaurants are out to make profits and do not consider some important customer and employee needs.
Does anyone want this product?
Everyone is proud of their African heritage. Sampling this through African dishes would prove satisfying. It is hard to find an African restaurant that offers its client an opportunity to have the “home away from home” feeling. This is where the customer is allowed to either prepare his / her own meals or give stand-by chefs the ingredients they would like to be included in their meal of choice.
Product life cycle
The product life cycle is long. Unless the penchant for African dishes becomes obsolete, then this product will be around for a long time. It will be successful as far as quality and ambiance are provided.
Pricing: a number of reasons will determine the pricing. One is if the clients prepared the meal for him / her self or if the chef did the work on his behalf, another reason is whether the type of meal the clients had. Location: the location of the restaurant will be near a farm(s) where all the foods that will be prepared in the restaurant will come from.
In conclusion, the restaurant will have a stand-by dietician who will give advice to clients on the best foods to eat depending on what they want to achieve. For those who wish to lose weight, then they will be advised accordingly and for those who wish to gain weight, they will be advised according.
Limitations of the Project
Most urban centers have been turned into “concrete jungles” and therefore one of the major limitations of the project will be to get an ideal fertile land where the restaurant and the farm for the product can be located. It will also be hard to get a place that is near the central business district and near offices for most clients. This might make the restaurant have less human traffic during the day but in the evening, the business will be good since most clients will be coming from work. They will visit the restaurant, enjoy the evening preparing their meals before they head home.
Viability of the Idea / Conclusion
It is everyone’s wish to have a long healthy life and one of the key determinants of these is a good diet. many clients (especially) those who have health-related ailments/conditions will swarm the restaurant to get the best African cuisine that will make them live longer.
As a tourist attraction, most tourists will visit the restaurant to sample the taste of the various African cuisines on offer. Apart from the cuisine, the different rich African cultures will be available for the tourist to learn. In conclusion, special game drives and trips will be organized on a weekly basis to give the tourist to view what the continent has to offer in terms of wildlife and natural parks. If well designed, implement, and managed, this noble idea can be of great success and benefit all the major players involved.

Business idea 2: Kiondo Basket
The concept of kiondo bag is from the kikuyu people from the central province of Kenya. Modern women have strived to balance their professional careers as well as mother hood and this has proved to be a hard task. It is a common site to see a woman carry her handbag as well as a baby’s bag and this makes it look bulky. The introduction of the new kiondo multipurpose handbag will greatly reduce this burden.
Features of the New Kiondo Hand Bag
Design: The bag will retain its African look but with more elegance, style and look. Unlike the traditional big kiondo that is usually carried over the back, the new bag will be medium sized and carried just like the normal hand bags. The final appearance of the kiondo will be African, incorporating accessories / decorations from other African tribes and cultures.
Components: The main feature of the bag will be its different components that will allow the modern woman be able to carry different accessories. The bag will have a component for carrying basic clothes for the baby as well as side pocket for storing baby’s milk. The side pocket will be designed in such a way that it will be able to keep warm the milk for a few hours. Another component in the bag will be reserved for the woman to enable carry her normal accessories.
Production of the bags
The main advantage of the production process of the bags is that it is cheap, economical and the production process does not populate the environment.
Sisal: Sisal, which is locally available, is the main fabric that is used in the production of the kiondo. Sisal as a “raw material” is easy to find and the price of purchase is relatively cheap as compared to other natural raw materials available.
After the sisal has been harvested, dried and prepared, the sisals string will be dyed in different colors to give the African touch.
Other production material that will be needed for the production of the kiondo is cotton material, which will be used for the interior of the bag. The material will be used for the portioning of the bag. Different colors of the material will be used to give the bag a classy African look.
Beads: Different beads will be used for the exterior design of the bag. The beads will be selected from different cultures around the continent. This will give bag an overall African look and design.
Labor Process: Art is a natural talent that is God given, however the art of kiondo weaving has been practiced and perfected by most African communities. Therefore, when it comes to labor, it will be locally available. This will be enabled by the use of women groups for the weaving process. This will be great advantage since it will also be easy to get the raw material for production.
Product life cycle
This product will have a long presence in the market. The marketing of the bag either will be through individuals or well established bodies. There is an increase in demand for such bags across Europe which means, the market is growing hence the life of such a product in the markets is going to be lengthy
The project does not have any major limitation since the raw material are locally available and there is ready market.
Risks and hazards: There is none since the production is not mechanical, rather involves weaving using the hands. Market size: The market size cannot be estimated since this inception has to be measured through client response to the product.
Conclusion
The idea is a viable one since it strives to provide labor for the many jobless women in the village. In addition to that, the project does not cause any form of air pollution and the production materials are locally available. The demand for the bags in the European and local market also gives it an advantage.
