Vision
My vision is to be a turnaround chief executive officer (CEO) of my family business, contributing towards its transformation into a multinational corporation that meets the objectives of all its stakeholders. Currently, the family business is not able to meet the needs of the market due to its poor financial performance. My father who is in charge of the business has failed to develop new strategies to improve its performance. Given the interest that I have in business, I believe that I can turnaround the company in the next ten years. In this respect, my objective is to provide effective leadership by collaborating with employees and external consultants to develop cutting-edge corporate strategies to overcome the competition in the market. In addition, I intend to use my skills and knowledge in finance to mitigate the risks that the company is facing.
Mission
My purpose is to be a responsible and hardworking student by surpassing the performance benchmark set by my university. In my personal life, my purpose is to build the family business by participating in its management activities as I prepare myself to become a responsible leader and husband. In order to achieve my vision and mission, I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance at Stanford University. Upon graduating, I intend to pursue a Master of Science in Financial Engineering. This will enable me to acquire advanced skills and knowledge in finance and management. Consequently, I expect to become a performance and risk analyst after completing my second degree. In addition, I intend to pass the CFA examination in order to become a chartered financial analyst. Thus, I will be in a position to become the chief financial officer (CFO) of a reputable organization such as Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). My academic qualifications and the work experience that I expect to gain in various organizations will prepare me for my role as the CEO of my family business.
Values
My personal values include integrity, fairness, service to others, excellence, and commitment. I believe in maintaining the highest standard of integrity because it helps in winning the trust of others. As a CEO, my employees and suppliers can only trust and obey me if my integrity is unquestionable. Fairness is important to me because I believe that individuals can achieve their best if they are given equal opportunities. As a fair CEO, I will be able to avert the conflicts that are likely to arise in my company due to unequal treatment of employees. As a charismatic leader, I believe in serving others rather than being served. Serving others is a powerful tool that I often use to encourage others to show compassion and selflessness in the society.
The pursuit of excellence is important to me because of the challenges associated with the corporate world. I have to focus on achieving the best grades in college in order to become an effective CEO in future. Similarly, I will have to encourage excellent performance in my company in order to overcome the competition in the market. I believe in commitment since it promotes determination and excellence. Commitment enables me to achieve the best in life. Moreover, it gives me the opportunity to show my concern for others.
