In the Character type of Sun Wukong, Journey to the west is about pilgrimage of Buddhist to India when monk went to western regions at the time of Tang Dynasty in order to get sacred texts. Buddhism means religion that has many traditions and beliefs with their attribution to Siddhartha Gautama. Buddhism as a Buddha religion has Buddhist as the followers who belief in rebirth as well as Karma.
The author of the paper narrates about Sun Wukong who is the king of monkeys. This name refers to awakened to emptiness and was given to him by his teacher. The king was born in a rocky mountain and gained fame when he entered a cave where no one else before had managed to reach. After making many gods angry and the emperor of Jade knew that, he was given a responsibility in heaven of taking care of horses.
According to him, this was a low class job and after he realized that he was no longer a god who is fully fledged, he was unhappy about the new responsibility and took measures in order to counter that decision (Yu 94). When he returned to the mountain, he declared himself as the great sage who was equivalent to heaven.
The effort by solders to arrest Sun Wukong did not bear fruits despite this being a directive by the emperor Jade. This earned Sun Wukong the role of overseeing peach garden. The peaches bore fruits after every three thousand years and consuming the fruits led to immortality when Sun became matchless and very powerful after he consumed one fruit (Yu 94)
When fairies went to get peaches, Sun was informed that there was no invitation for him, laughed at him who made him to cause problems and defeated troops amounting to one hundred thousand led by Nezha and Erlang. Later, the emperor of Jade commanded Buddha to Detain Wukong under the mountain of five elements where he remained for five hundred years without escaping due to the spell on top of the mountain.
For Sun, Ruvi Jingu was a strong weapon that he could transform into various forms and proportions according to his needs and it any time he wanted. This rod had weight amounting to eighteen thousands pounds and offered great support and could be used as a pillar in the palace. Sun was not happy when the pillar was pulled out by the monkeys and was accused that he was a thief, which made him to be insulted (Yu 207).
The king of dragon was not willing to see troubles made by the monkeys in his place and decided to give Sun Golden amour after he had demanded to be given. The gifts that Sun received and devouring the immortality peaches made him a pilgrimage member who was very strong (Yu 9).
Apart from his abilities, he was capable of plucking his hair and blowing them to make them to what he wanted. Sun could cover a long distance very fast using his ability to fly like birds.
The behavior of Sun was monitored by Band around the head, which was put by Guanvin, and Sun Wukong could not remove it until the end of the journey. Xuanzang tightened the band whenever there was need to chastise the Sun. The disciples of Xuanzang referred this spell as Headache Sutra, which was the Mantra of Buddhist (Yu 207).
Sun Wukong was playful like a child, which created contrast because he was very cunning, and powerful making him a hero in the trickster. In the modern word, children who appreciate characters that are animal like enjoy reading about Sun Wukong because it teaches about the important values and morals.
This includes respecting the religion, chastity and religious practices, which are fervent and the lesson that a greedy man can be consumed. The Character of the Sun Wukong is very interesting because there is deep insight about the philosophy of everybody towards life, and how other people perceive life depending on the way he or she behaves and the goals that can be respected (Yu 207).
The analysis of the character of Sun Wudong is full of fun and can be recommended in series of literature. People who are in need of modern books, which are not overdone, can also read it. According to the analysis, he had learnt the Tao art, transformation of the seventy-two polymorphic, combat and secrets in immortality but use of force made him to be recognized.
He was powerful up to the point of matching the king of the Eastern deities. His downfall was proved by Hubris when Buddha talisman was used to seal the mountain. Sun Wudong was a disciple who was most intelligent as well as violent where his violence made him to be reproved and trapped by Xuanzang trapped. The magic ring made of gold around his neck was unbearable and caused headache when it was tightened (Yu 44).
