As technology enhances in numerous industries, the nursing and medical field is not excluded from such innovations. Technological inventions have backed the adoption of nursing practices, such as cloud computing that incorporates the nursing science with other disciplines, such as computer science and information and data science (Dang et al., 2019). Pioneers in the field of medicine have contributed to the growth and improvement of cloud computing in various ways. Therefore, by focusing on cloud computing, this paper illustrates the influence of the information resource, its contribution to the nursing field, and results drawn from their inception in the nursing field and how consumers can employ it in understanding the current healthcare issues.
Cloud computing is a technological innovation that necessitates the delivery and access of figuring resources and services over the internet. The virtual resources presented to consumers through cloud computing involve servers, websites, networking, databases, networking, and analytics (Dang et al., 2019). It has significantly impacted the healthcare process and provided solutions to minimize redundant duties, eradicate bias-centered faults, and recognizing information patterns in images to project threats and improve workflow procedures. For instance, cloud computing has enabled better patient treatment through the remote consumer monitoring and patient-practitioner interactions.
Furthermore, it has facilitated real-time information sharing for nurses, administrators, and other healthcare experts, particularly in times of disaster, such as the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Through the aid of cloud computing systems, the healthcare industry professionals were able to notify consumers globally on the adversities, symptoms, and preventive measures for the virus (Ayoobkhan & Asirvatham, 2017). Therefore, cloud computing plays a vital role in the nursing field as it helps in improving medical care and promoting a healthy living amongst consumers.
In conclusion, technological innovations have significantly impacted the current nursing fields as it has not only improved the practice but also enhanced the care given to patients. Health informatics depends on cloud computing to access a wide range of medical information and consumer electronic health records. Unlike the previous period when everything depended on second hand information, patients and other clients can now get information concerning the various international medical concerns digitally. Therefore, cloud computing is an essential part of nursing practice, and it should be analyzed further to determine its advantages and disadvantages fully.
