Common sense is defined as a combination of sensory perceptions and experiences being interpreted to develop an understanding of the surrounding world. Common sense is a powerful tool, enjoyed and emphasized by ancient philosophers such as Aristotle. They viewed common sense is the foundation of human interaction and intelligence, as belonging to everyone. However, despite its fundamental importance, common sense does not have the capability to develop knowledge, the Greek’s pinnacle of pursuit. That role was left to reason, capable of structuring evidence and critical evaluation. The primary difficulty arises in drawing the boundary between commons sense and reason in the pursuit of Knowledge., a concept that many philosophers and theories have addressed. This paper explores the thoughts of Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates, as well as applies self-actualization theories in distinguishing common sense and reason, discussing their roles in creating knowledge and intelligence. This research will draw more knowledge regarding the topics of sensory information and the implementation. of passive/active reasoning. The research will aid knowledge contribution in the fields of philosophy as well as psychology and sociology.
