Introduction

The youth consumption in the modern economies of developed cities and nations has massively grown; as a result of the development of the world’s technological advancement, which has occurred in most developed cities and nations. The development of this youth consumption in most developed cites’ and nations’ cultures has greatly affected the cultural trend of youths in such countries (Prentice, 2005).

Main body

It has been evident that, in most developed cities like Tokyo, the development of youth consumption is very high due to the advancement of technology in Japan; which has been caused by the search for job opportunities by such youths as a result of developed technology within the country (Marcuse, 1972).

As it has come out, Tokyo city is one of the cities in developed countries that has many youths who have adopted the culture of being technologically oriented; in the manufacture of automobiles and other electrical appliances. This absorption of youths in Tokyo city has followed the fact that; Japan being a small country with few natural resources has to lead to many youths having no other option of earning an income; other than involving themselves in the production of technological appliances (Marcuse, 1972).

More so; as the country’s ancestors were technologically oriented, many youths have adopted this culture and advanced in this line of production of technological appliances so as to earn a living. Today, Tokyo is one of the most developed cities in which most youths have been absorbed in its culture of production; for technological appliances so that they can earn some income (Prentice, 2005).

This has been of great importance to Japan, as the culture of production of these technological appliances will be transmitted from one generation to another, enhancing the increase in the county’s technological advancement. This would further lead to the invention of new ideas and production methodologies day after day; enhancing the most effective way of utilizing the available resources to maximize production in terms of quantity and quality (Marcuse, 1972).

As it is in most modern cities and countries, most youths are compelled to engage themselves in various technologically oriented activities like the repair of electrical appliances, as well as inventing other new electrical appliances. Another example where there has been a high absorption of youths to the modern economies is the Beijing city in China. In this city, most youths have been left to be responsible for themselves by their parents during their leisure times. This has followed the fact that these youths once left to do what they wish during their leisure time; will engage in the activities that they like most, and this will enhance their advancement in the lines of activities that they engage in (Bull & Weed, 2003).

In the current society where modernization has been experienced in almost all the countries of the world; most people have found themselves in the dilemma of what activities they should engage in, during their leisure time. Being a very democratic world, many people have engaged in various activities during their leisure time in which everyone does what he or she wishes (Prentice, 2005).

In general terms, in most societies in the current modernized world; many youths have found themselves having the freedom to utilize their leisure time the way they wish as a result of cultural integration across the world. This has greatly affected mostly the living styles adopted in the past, by such youths leading to a cultural modification (Prentice, 2005).

However, it has also been revealed that most youths in some countries have found themselves not in a position to change their lifestyles; despite the changes in the current world in terms of economical and technological advances. This has been caused by some factors which have led to the rigidity of these youths to change their lifestyles due to the fact that; their ancestors initiated such lifestyles and that their only main mode to earn a living is through such activities which they engage in (Prentice, 2005).

In most cases, various individuals especially youths have found themselves to have greater freedom to utilize most of their time in very productive activities, following the modernization era that prevails in the current contemporary society (Prentice, 2005).

Conclusion

Generally the current massive youth advancement in modern economies of the developed cities and countries; has been caused mainly by the current world’s technological advancement. This has led to the improvement of the status of the nations’ national per capita income, boosting the country’s national economy.
