First and foremost, a typical conflict is a collision of two or more actors who do not share the same vision on some aspect of their object of speaking about. However, disagreements occurred at all times and were presented in many variations. This is due to the fact that people are completely different from each other so that misunderstandings might develop for any reasons. From this perspective, conflict might be a self-expression of the deepest aspects of the personal character.

While main fundamentals of conflict theory were investigated from many points of view, this theory is one of the least comprehensible for people who cannot understand basic principles of psychology. However, when some individuals possess deep knowledge of the appropriate methods of behavior, they might have a competitive advantage during the mental collision owing to the notion that they know how this theory is implemented. Consequently, some disputes might be resolved by using “unfair” strategies for effective conflict resolution. More specifically, such situations occur because there is no static formula for achieving consensus, and the methods might differ depending on the situation.

For instance, some people are furious when disputing and cannot control their way of expressing emotions. In this case, the conflict theory specialist, who was my opponent, might easily achieve the agreement with me in any part of dilemmas. The main specialist’s advantage is that they can choose an appropriate expression to make their challenger behave as they expect. When I became furious during the mental collision, the conflict theory specialist has put me in an uncomfortable position when I must accept the unintentional decision.

In case of personal furiousness, a specialist can make the other person express their anger. When they reach the “maximum” and begin downgrading their emotions, the opponent is accepting to resolve the conflict because of their awkward position when the listener does not demonstrate any reaction to the furious behavior.

Turning to the fundamental cause of disagreements, there is a great number of misunderstanding’s nature. However, the inequality issue is one of the most widespread conflict basis. From this perspective, a deep human nature begins interacting with emotions, which usually creates an uncontrolled burst of negative energy during the dispute. Eventually, this situation occurs due to the initial misalignment among the society. Every person possesses special qualitative characteristics that determine their future behavior. As a result, many individuals might feel that their opponents have some advantages in any sphere of life. From the weak person’s point of view, there must be equality satisfaction.

On the other hand, a person with a strong competitive advantage struggle for saving the status quo because they think they made hard work to gain such position so that when specific situation occurs, the stronger person in some sphere of life becomes an inequality victim. This is a starting point of the conflict beginning, and only from this time, two sides come into collision. Undoubtedly, the inequality source is one of the most frequent causes of any disputes in our life. Nevertheless, there is no certainty how to resolve the misunderstanding so that two sides find the point of equality from both perspectives.

In this case, global principles of behavior begin playing a pivotal role in correct conflict resolution. To be more specific, there are general standards of choosing the way of appropriate conduct dependently on the situation. Consequently, the most important task for both sides is to find the same vision on the situation, the main issue, and the general opinion about the way of behavior in these circumstances. Even though there is no certainty that people will achieve the consensus in all of the aspects, both sides are already able to find an escape from the dead point of misunderstanding.

One of the brightest examples of disputes based on inequality could be illustrated to enforce my opinion about effective conflict theory implementation. One day I experienced inequality in school test estimation. When I received a mark for the final test, I realized that I was one point apart from an “A”. I did not pay attention to this aspect until I discovered that my colleague earned a higher mark for the same number of correct answers.

After the lesson, I was actively discussing the source of the problem with my tutor, who provided a correct estimation from her side. However, during the collision, I disclosed that my colleague had taken part in 5 scientific school symposiums, while I did not attend any of them because of the lack of time. While taking this aspect into account, me and my tutor began looking at the situation from the same side, and the “inequality” issue was solved because of the general notion that those who do extra classwork should be fairly compensated for their efforts.

Overall, conflict theory discloses the source of the collision, the actors of the misunderstandings, and some fundamental methods of their solving. While there are many sources of disputes, inequality is one of the most frequent in society. This occurs due to the basic principles of the “initial misalignment” among different people. When some individuals make more efforts to gain a competitive advantage, others might not know about this fact and think that they are inequality victims. Finally, the only method of escaping from the collision is to find a common point of view on the problem and apply general rules of behavior dependently on the situation.
