Information and Assumptions
Before I decide to write out a plan on counter-terrorism, I will first consider my position as to whether I am allowed by the company constitution to go ahead with such a program. I will weigh the possibilities of the success of the plan. Anything concerning security is the prerogative of the government. Indeed, any political system that fails to provide security should cease to exist. The role that I can play as a Company president is to create awareness to all stakeholders of the institution to beware of terrorism. The plan I will create will be aiming to sensitize the customers and clients about the possibilities of terrorist attacks within the company premises.
I also have to determine whether the junior staff that I will leave the details with has sufficient knowledge to come up with a successful plan. At this point, the activity undertaken by the company is also analyzed. If it is a very sensitive company such as that producing weapon then the plan should be comprehensive. Terrorists from time immemorial have been targeting strategic institutions and places.
Sources of Data in Writing the Plan
The first source that is more reliable is the person or institution that has witnessed the effects of a terror attack. They are in good positions to explain what occurred or how it occurred. This can be done by interviewing the victims using questions or arranging a seminar that would facilitate focused group discussion. Another source of information is from experts. This category includes scholars who specialize in offering consultative services on terrorism. They have reliable information since it is their specialization. The final place that I can source the information is from the government authorities. I will check the documented data showing all the cases of terrorism. All these sources will provide a baseline for the establishment of the plan
Effectiveness of the Idea
Since the idea is like a hypothesis, I will subject it to testing. This means that I will put it into real practice. The contents of the plan are to be implemented either with the assistance of the state security agencies or by the company itself. The feedback from all concerned parties is assessed. If the feedback is positive, the plan is said to have sailed through.
Profiling
Profiling is advisable if the war on terrorism is to succeed. It does not mean that anyone being profiled is a terrorist. The fact of the matter is that almost all terror attacks that occur around the globe have been associated with citizens from the Middle East. Not all citizens from the Middle East are criminals; only a few with extremist ideas are terrorists. Profiling will facilitate easy tracking of all Middle East citizens including the terrorists. This will give the state security agencies ample time in the management of terrorism threats. Leaving all citizens a chance to interact freely without tracing the suspects is like giving a blank check to terrorists. They will easily destroy since no one will be monitoring their movements. Terrorism has become a matter of international concern. All states in the world are trying to contain the problem due to its destructive nature. Profiling should therefore not be criticized since the records speak for themselves.
