This paper is aimed at showing that modern families become more vulnerable because they cannot derive proper support from the community. In many cases, people do not know how to cope with various stressors that they can face daily. In this context, the stressor can be viewed as every environmental factor that leads to anxiety, exasperation, or irritability. Moreover, the environment includes external forces factors that shape the experiences of a person. For instance, it is possible to distinguish such factors as work, infrastructure, mass media, peer pressure, and so forth. Therefore, it is necessary to create organizations that can make families more resilient to external stressors. These are the main questions that should be discussed more closely.

The experiences of families profoundly depend on the environment in which they live, and in many cases, the influence of external factors is very adverse. One should keep in mind that some communities do not have the necessary infrastructure that can support the socialization of parents. For instance, one can speak about the absence of parks or museums. This argument can be relevant if one speaks about inner cities. It should be noted that contemporary parents have to cope with a variety of challenges that can be related to their work life. For instance, one can mention the necessity to work overtime (Tom, 2004, p. 129). Moreover, they may need to spend a lot of time getting to work. In this case, one should focus on the lack of transportation infrastructure. As a result, many spouses can become alienated from one another. Moreover, some of them cannot pay due attention to the needs of their children. The problem has two dimensions. At first, one should mention the increasing rates of divorce (Finkelhor, 2008, p. 49). Secondly, many children tend to emulate deviant behavior. In some cases, they may even believe that crime is acceptable (Finkelhor, 2008, p. 49). These are some of the main pitfalls that should be avoided.

Overall, it is possible to offer some solutions to this problem. At first, employers and governmental institutions should promote the creation of family support centers that can offer psychological counseling to parents as well as children. In this case, the term family support center can be defined as the organization that is supposed to help couples overcome problems leading to family dysfunction. These problems include such factors stress, lack of work-time balance, or depression. The employees of such support centers should teach parents various coping skills that help them overcome stress. Moreover, parents should learn more about the education of children. They should know how to ensure the psychological and social development of their children during different stages of their lifespan. These are the main elements of this solution.

This solution has several advantages. In particular, parents will be better able to resolve conflicts that can be embedded in their daily lives. Moreover, they will identify the problems in the behavior of children. Nevertheless, there are several limitations of this approach. In particular, it will not eliminate the underlying causes of stress, such as the lack of work-life balance or lack of infrastructure. This problem requires considerable investment and transformation of many of current policies. Moreover, this task is very time-consuming. Nevertheless, this particular solution can make people more resilient to the negative influence of outside factors. This is why it should not be overlooked.
