In fact, traveling or the workplace offers the best grounds for meeting different people with distinct characteristics, thereby, prompting one to define and classify those diverse groups. Therefore, the essay gives the definition and classification of different groups of people that one encounters at the job as a tour guide, specifically discussing the harried families, the gung-ho explorers, and the bored couples.
The Harried Families
In essence, the harried families are defined as those who are persistently troubled with insignificant annoyance. Mostly, they fall under the working class mothers or fathers who are interrupted occasionally, either on duty or at the domestic level. Those families endure such interruptions from their children and colleagues at workplace. Mostly, the typical harried families experience hectic day because, they are always on toes. Other scholars have described them as those who “fly by their pants”, none-comfortable families and those who default automatically in their lives. Sometimes, the harried families do not even get time to complete the tasks due to the problems they undergo in the workplace and domestic setup.
The Gung-ho Explorers
In the field of tour and explorations, the Gung-ho explorers are the people enthusiastic, perhaps, more dedicated to what they are doing. As a tour guide, many people that one encounters in the course of duty are really enthusiastic of the new environment to which they are exposed. Usually, these happy individuals are dedicated in discovering the new environment that for one reason, or another, they might not have seen.
Sometimes meeting the expectation of those people is difficult and the tour guide is forced to succumb to their wishes and their expectations. In order to accomplish the task of helping those people, the tour guide has to align him/herself with the same working spirit and make sure that the enthusiastic explorers are fully satisfied with the journey. However, as a tour guide, one is expected to make sure that those explores, get the best of their expedition and having an interest of re-visiting the place the second time. Apparently, it is upon the tour guide to make the exploration interesting, through highlighting and describing all the sceneries in the course of the journey in an explicit way.
Notably, the gung-ho explorers are of all ages, sexes, religion, social status, meaning that there is no age limit when one could enjoy the fun and uniqueness of the new journey to the new environment. Indeed, in a new zone, every feature glitters, making the occasional tours, to be part of the interesting adventures in one’s life.
The Bored Couples
In most cases, the bore couples can be described as the mutually incompatible partners bound by the affinity, other than love. Simply, they are not well-matched; perhaps, there is some level of dissatisfaction in the soul of each couple. Indeed, their state of mind experiences the emotions of discontent with their partner, and expressed physically through anger. The bored couples are not interested in the workplace or in the environment where they stay. Despite many reasons making the couples get bored, the most common ways, which make the couples get bored, include the following; Fist, when the couples or one of them is barred from doing an activity that he/she thinks very important, without being given a satisfactory reason. Secondly, when the couples, or one of them, are compelled to do a task that does not interest him/her. Finally, the boredom might arise when the couples are incapacitated, to complete an activity due to environmental or psychological pressure from the peers.
Notably, all the situations have the psychological trauma of disinterest, thus, making the affected person lose the interest in an area or the activities, which he/she cannot accomplish. As the individual tries to respond to the challenges, and fail, the stress increases and he/she becomes bored. Similarly, if the person does not get attention from the partner, then he/she might not acknowledge the presence of his/her partner, and would perceive the relationship as forced and irresponsible.
Typically, someone who is unhappy would be bored as the symptoms of depression manifests. All the other social problems, physical encounters psychological stress and lack of educational achievements increase the couple’s anxiety, apathy, worry, and finally bored. In addition, it is the person’s inherent perception that makes him or her not stimulated, dull and bored.
