Cultural history influences human behavior and has an impact on family members and family customs. Cultural roots are the practices and traditions people pick up as they grow up. They specify a person’s value systems, attitudes, and belief systems. People gain organization and a feeling of group belonging from these roots. On the other hand, routes are viewed as stops on the intercultural road that will eventually face opposition. These interactions might benefit or negatively impact one’s thoughts and behavior. Despite having different definitions, roots and routes have a strong mutual influence.
I was born in Long Island, New York; my primary culture is Italian, although my ancestors are from Italy, Irish, German and Polish. The circumstances on Long Island significantly influenced how I evolved as a person as well as how I saw the world and understand it now. Most people in my neighborhood were Americans, so I adopted the American culture. I picked up values like love of independence, respect for hard effort, belief in equality, respect for efficiency, and a focus on the future from American society. Growing up in a large city helped me establish connections with those nearby and gain insight into their perspectives. My neighbors and the numerous friends I have grown up with have affected my life significantly. They have provided me with insightful viewpoints on the world and established an example that I continue to follow.
My mother is the most significant and influential person in my life. She worked hard to raise me well, yet she was strict and frequently punished me when I misbehaved. At the time, I did not understand why I was being penalized, but looking back, I can see that it was intended to correct me softly and steer me as I grew up in the right direction. My mother taught me the value of having positive connections with other people. My mother was a lovely person who also sympathized with everyone around her. I often saw her showing sympathy to our acquaintances, particularly when any of them was experiencing a tough period since she worked as a nurse. I was capable of forming trusting bonds with the residents of my town. With my former teachers, coaches, and peers, I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. Without my mother, I could not keep up these connections. When I have my children, I will probably think similarly because that is how I was raised.
My father is a role model and my life’s mentor. When I am in trouble, I turn to him for guidance. My father has guided me through all my crucial life decisions. I have never looked back because following his advice always worked for me. He works hard and is dedicated; his achievements have greatly influenced my identity. I have the same work ethic as my father because I want to do well in school. My professional objectives are designed to allow me to pursue my dreams. My father aspired to be one of the most outstanding masons and succeeded. He achieved his goal of career advancement. My father has taught me that if one tries harder and dreams big enough, one can achieve anything one puts his mind to. I have many plans because I enjoy seeing him work toward and accomplish all his objectives.
Though my upbringing was largely Italian, outside home, I have had a fairly American existence which helped me rapidly integrate into American culture. I can speak English fluently and I also have numerous American friends through whom I learn a lot. My Italian religion do not greatly differ from the American one and this has significantly helped me in adapting the American culture. We have been sharing some religious beliefs, such as the Christmas Eve celebrations with my American neighbors, ever since I was a child. We could exchange gifts, build Christmas trees, attend church, and eat together, which helped me learn and strengthen my bond with them. My perspective on teaching and the way I will manage my class as an instructor has been positively influenced by my assimilation into American society.
When I was younger, telling acquaintances and classmates about my culture was challenging. After I thought about what I am, I found understanding who and what I genuinely am challenging. It caused me to pause in my paths and give my origins and public persona a severe thought. I realized I ought to be incredibly proud of every culture I represent. Since my home is a hybrid of two cultures, I had to put up with their ideologies. I became highly creative, enjoying new experiences, discovering what is past that slender line in the distance, and having the ability to encounter new people all at once with pleasant energies.
Cultural routes have presented me with numerous obstacles throughout my life. After completing high school, my parents took me on a family vacation in London. This trip provided me with a wealth of exciting experiences, gave me a chance to learn a great deal about British culture, and helped me make friends I will cherish forever. Though London has evolved into a vast, multicultural city, it has maintained its tiny British icons. The icons provided proof of the various texts I had studied about the ancient British. They enhanced my overall experience and gave the impression that my trip was well-planned and traditional. This showed me how important it is to take care of everything I come into contact with in life.
Another significant cultural turn happened while I was still in high school. My close friend taught me the basics of Korean. The language and culture of Korea utterly enthralled me. The language was lovely, and straightforward but challenging, but I managed to master it. I made it an aspect of my life because I desired it. After high school, I have always wanted to visit my friend in South Korea and learn more about Korean culture. My ability to communicate with Korean students and businessmen in Long Island has improved as a result of learning this language. It has widened my worldview, expanded my perceptions, and strengthened my tolerance and adaptability. My urge to learn new languages has also grown as a result; I now intend to study French.
I need to seek specific attributes within myself to become an educator. Understanding where one has come from and what one is aiming toward is crucial. I have learned through this course that there are many things I never knew or considered before starting this journey. I will put in endless effort while considering my unique teaching philosophy, which reflects my principles, values, and ideals as a teacher and a person. Every day at school, I interact with people from all cultures, and they inspire me more than I can count. Some of my colleagues are short-tempered; others like creating problems out of nowhere, but I have learned to live with them. Although engaging with individuals from many cultures might be challenging, it fosters a greater love and understanding of people.
Family members and classmates are the prominent individuals one tries to please when growing up; in addition, one must act differently outside of the home to be accepted by society. While maintaining ties to one’s cultural background is ideal, rigorous cultures forbid any manipulation of the laws; they either exist or do not as they are represented. However, while younger generations are more susceptible to outside influences, older generations revere and respect their culture’s laws. My cultural roots are the tale of a young adult deeply cherished and shaped by his parents. My cultural routes tell the story of someone who genuinely cares about everyone. I would not be where I am or possess the opinions and experiences that I do without the help of my parents.
My upbringing and experiences have an impact on how I live my life. I appreciate my parents for instilling a solid work ethic in me. Every person possesses traits that come from the lessons that parents taught them. People find it challenging to forget their heritage and culture. My parents spent their entire lives trying to give me what I needed and teaching me values that would enhance me as a person. I feel as though I am nearing the end of my educational journey, and I am proud of myself for working so hard and with such tenacity to achieve my goals. Despite where one comes from, I have learned through my cultural background that humans are all the same. My cultural journeys also demonstrate that a path constantly transforms, regardless of how long. I appreciate every step I have taken and every individual I have encountered. Every person I come across, in my opinion, provides a unique perspective that teaches me something.
