Despite a decline in coronavirus-related emissions, Earth’s carbon dioxide levels have reached record peaks. The lock-down has lowered emissions of many toxins, including carbon dioxide and greenhouse gasses. However, the elevated CO2 concentration results from the cumulative current and past emissions. Le QuĂ©rĂ© et al. argue that the projected reduction in day-to-day CO2 emissions during this pandemic period corresponds to the emission level in 2006 (652). However, the carbon dioxide concentration levels keep rising despite the effort of the global society to reduce it.

The increasing numbers of automobiles release greenhouse fumes into the air. Almost 26% of all the US global heating emissions come from its transportation sector, including vehicles, trucks, aircraft, trains, ships, and freight (Chapman 355). Thus, environmentalists advocate for behavioral changes amongst the global population to reduce the adversities associated with the elevated concentration of CO2.

Specifically, Chapman argues that a significant modal change to public transport is vital to minimize CO2 emissions from road transport (357). Moreover, although policies are needed to promote the shift to other transportation modes, the enlightened author adds that they might fail as well unless the global countries expend sufficient investment. Notably, Freije et al. contend that every member of society needs to know the complex nature of CO2 concentration to ensure that they oversee the reduction of it (14). Other than enacting policies against the careless emission of CO2, all the entrusted stakeholders need to have vast knowledge about the complex nature of these gases.

Companies are investing in green technology to minimize the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere. Corporations such as The Coca-Cola syndicate and other goal-oriented businesses uphold the corporate social responsibility’s (CSR) principles (Kolk and Pinkse 214). Successful business people advocate for renewable energy sources to safeguard society members from the adversities associated with the increasing carbon dioxide concentration. International bodies such as the European Nations and other humanitarian organizations pledge their support to the various endeavors invested in reducing the gas concentration (Alola et al. 313). Thus, companies in this modern era should invest in green technology to help mitigate the adversities associated with greenhouse gas emissions.

In conclusion, the levels of carbon dioxide concentration are on the rise despite the global society’s efforts to cut it. Other than the increasing number of motors, the society’s ignorance makes the society members suffer the adversities associated with the extreme weather conditions. Thus, global stakeholders need to invest their resources and energy towards recommending alternatives that would reduce the CO2 emission and guarantee the human race’s sustainable existence.
