A thorough analysis was conducted to determine the internal and external factors that led to the escalation of the challenges. The P.E.S.T.E.L. analysis was used to explain the external business environment that is likely to affect the organization’s day-to-day operation. The findings could be used to formulate solutions for the organization’s positive outcomes.
The SWOT analysis was used to determine the internal and external factors key to helping the organization fight and overcome the issues affecting its operation. The TOWS, on the other hand, was used to analyze how the organization’s strengths could overcome the challenges and how opportunism could be converted into solutions for the threats. The analysis provided incredible solutions that could be used to overcome the difficulties stated that could assist in the transition of Fairmont San Francisco to an eco-friendly organization.
Analysis of the Findings
The investigation into the organization led to significant findings that revealed the dangers posed by unsustainable practices. The Fairmont San Francisco uses about 13% of its total revenue on electricity bills. The unsustainable practices are inefficient energy use, poor waste management, failure to invest in renewable energy, lack of awareness of sustainable issues, and unsustainable dining options. Each practice is a significant challenge for the hotel and must be addressed to help the hotel attain sustainability. A checklist must be created after the feasibility study to ensure that the implementation is effective and done within the framework of sustainability.
Through the analysis, the frameworks utilized were able to transform the threats and challenges into solutions that are effective and feasible and can transform the organization.
