In the current generation, education is different from that of the old generation in ways. In the modern age, technology development has led to the integration of internet research that was not there in the past in the education system (Raja & Nagasubramani, 2018). The internet provides an excellent opportunity to enhance the quality of education, and thus modern learners have a better experience. The learners of today spend most of their time on the internet, social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter, and playing video games (Shane-Simpson et al., 2018). In the past generation, the learners had better interaction and played sessions with their peers after school. The earlier generation system primarily aimed at imparting knowledge through theoretical learning and books, while the existing generation integrates experimentation and technology to facilitate learning. Researchers need to consider the differences between the two cohorts as the preceding cohort’s people may have differing opinions on technology with modern learners.
Aging considers both the psychological, biological, and social changes that happen in a person. Physical aging is characterized by progressive diminishing in cells’ physicochemical properties and metabolism (Liguori et al., 2018). It leads to a generalized decrease in kidneys, heart, and genital organ function, causing diseases. Diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and hypertension are some of the conditions experienced in the old. In males, the hairline may gradually recede, and also hair from other parts may disappear. Grey hair is also considered a sign of the elderly as the pigment cells diminish progressively with age. The common psychological factors affecting the elderly include dementia, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders (Mitina et al., 2020). Older people have few social friends compared to young adults, The elderly tend to cut the less essential ties and maintain those that are important to them. The social attitude toward the elderly by society is generally undesirable (Berger, 2017). They are regarded as forgetful, weak, selfish, and stubborn by the community. Above fifty years, I will consider myself aged because I will start experiencing most age-related changes.
